Why didn't I get this earlier?,
By
This review is from: USMLE Road Map: Neuroscience (LANGE Basic Science) (Paperback)
I had to struggle with neuroanatomy in my first year. To make things worse, some of the lecturers weren't exactly stellar. If I'd had this book earlier, I could have done way better in my tests. The organization of the book is logical, and the content is rich in that the important facts (i.e., those that are often asked in tests!) are summarized in an easy-to-read format. I've purchased all the USMLE Road Map books that have been released to date, and I have to say that this one stands out.

Finally got Neuro,
By
This review is from: USMLE Road Map: Neuroscience (LANGE Basic Science) (Paperback)
I wish I had this book during Neuro in school- after reading it, I understand the awful tracts and lesions for the first time along with the basal ganglia and cerebellum. The visual defects section is amazing. I found out about this book after hearing Dr. White teach for Kaplan. A must buy to get through Step 1 Neuro questions.

Great Step 1 Neuro Review,

Neuro was not my best subject in first year. This is a great review and helped me understand a few key concepts that I didn't learn during first year. If you spend half a day skimming through this book reading the blue boxes and LOOKING AT THE DRAWINGS you will be well prepared for the questions on the exam.

Good for boards, not for class,

I got this so that I could follow along during class, but that didn't work so well. The major emphasized concepts weren't the same that were emphasized in my class. I do, however, think this will be an excellent review tool for boards.

As a first year medical student I believe Dr. White to be one of the best professors I have ever had. This book is clear and to the point. I highly recommend it.

USMLE Road Map,

I bought this book after reading a bunch of reviews on it. Just recently finished reading it to review neuro. I feel like I finally understand what they were trying to teach us last year.
I give it 4 stars only because it's kind of long and dense with text. The wording is pretty technical and sometimes you have to think really hard about what they're saying. The clinical correlations are good. All you need to know about that particular tract/system/whatever is all in once place. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a good neuro refresher.

Exceptional title in Neuroscience.,
This review is from: USMLE Road Map Neuroscience, Second Edition (LANGE USMLE Road Maps) (Paperback)
Layout of the book is excellent, clinical correlations are generously provided, pictures, diagrams, radiology are excellent and elaborate.
You can feel the author's passion in the field of neuroscience/neurology in the text. Explanation are excellent, it's very high yield, if you would you can spend good amount of really enjoyable time reading a single page, and reflecting and digesting the material presented. Flow is seamless and VERY smooth, you get into difficult and elaborate concepts really quick, satisfied and almost energised for more. Index is quite good, I simply cannot think of anything that can be wrong with this book, you can still need a more comprehensive textbook for class or for neurology or for learning in greater depth generally, but for its category it's almost unpaired. Thank God I got this even before my neuro classes started.

Phenomenal Neuroanatomy Book,
This review is from: USMLE Road Map Neuroscience, Second Edition (LANGE USMLE Road Maps) (Paperback)
I struggled through my med school's neuroanatomy course till I picked up this little gem of a book. The chapters on the brainstem, basal ganglia, and cerebellum and especially good. It contains great clinical correlates and wonderful end of chapter review questions. This, along with a decent brain atlas, is all you need to master neuroanatomy.
