I'm sure many of you are wondering which book to choose: White Coat Pocket Guide or Master the Boards. Both are very good books and make great reviews for both Step 3 as well as Step 2. Nevertheless, White Coat Pocket Guide wins! The helpful algorithms and stronger focus on mechanism of action makes this book amazing. This book is also great for Step 2 because it incorporates pathophysiology, diagnosis, and next step in management, whereas Master the Boards only incorporates diagnosis and next step in management. Master the boards is also lacking strength in such things as arrhythmias and hematology/oncology, whereas this book pulls through strongly in both! White Coat Pocket Guide is overall very helpful and I would recommend it to anyone taking Step 2 as well as Step 3. In my opinion, I would choose White Coat Pocket Guide over Master the Boards.

I bought this book recently as I'm going to prepare for step 3. I found this book is full of clear, concise, valuable and latest facts in 439 pages. Many thanks to authors and Kaplan to make such a useful book available. The size of printed words is comfortable to read; not too small like other pocket books. You can also have a few spaces at some pages to write down additional facts if you want to. This pocket guide will be also useful during on call and on duty for quick reference.

I love this book and actually kept reading (to learn and not just to memorize) out of interest. This was golden for Step 2 and I will definitely re-read it for Step 3. LOADS better than First Aid...I cannot stress that enough!

Amazing book! Must have. I got it accidentally and was so much surprised.
Very well written, easy to read, no "water", just pure facts.
It's not a single book for step 3, one single book just doesn't exist. But it contains so many facts that you cannot find neither in Kaplan Lecture Notes nor in Fischer's "Master the boards".
Excellent algorithms, recent updated in care emphasized. Every word in this book is worthy.
It's half the price of "Crush" or "First Aid" and it's 1000 times better.
I'm sure in no time it'll become as popular as MTB.
Highly recommend.

It is indeed very compact sized (pocket Guide) but surprisingly more detailed than First Aid or Crush. The algorithms are very insightful, clear, and helpful. The bold letters are well highlighted.

This small book is incredibly helpful and handy while not dragging down you with heavy weight of other thick review material.

But it also lacks other information such as dermatology, which it leave out critical details in managements.

Otherwise, it is an excellent study guide book along with a review book/course to complement it. I personally also study premier review material and they go along very well.

I have no problems with this book but ultimately I found it less convenient to read when compared to the larger Kaplan book. I thought I would need a pocketsized book for portability, to just open during down time and get some quick reading. Really I found it more plausible to just sit down and read the in depth full size Kaplan book and work with online MCQ banks. Nothing wrong with this book, and everyone has their preferences. I passed the exam easily. Good luck!

I bought this book to prepare for my STEP 3. I would say it is concise and right to the point. Comparing this book to other Kaplan series: Master The Boards, this pocket book is more efficient and does have accurate algorithmic approach and demonstrations. I certainly recommend it. I give it 4 stars rating because you need to some important topics are not covered enough.
