5.0 out of 5 stars Here's the Secret of this product, December 7, 2008
Hello folks,.. wow this product has gotten Very Postive and very negative reviews, well, I was very sceptical after reading the negative ones, but I have some tips for you, Yes I got my Speakerphone and it works Great. Here is something I found out though,. Just Like a Webcam it needs a HIGH SPEED USB Port, I pluged this into my Standard Port < front of computer with Standard Hub > and it really sounded Funky,.. when I pluged it back into the REAR high speed Hub, it worked just great,.. I believe ports on the back of the computer Feed Directly from the Motherboard and are High Speed, Unlike Ports on the front,..ALso I didn't use the software that came with this, I downloaded the latest version from the skype Site. it has a call test that will show you how it's working,.. So if you use or are going to use Skype, I recommend this product,.. the only thing Im not sure of yet is how to keep my external speakers on, seems I have to Unplug this unit to do that, or my sound wants to go through the speakerphone..but as for calls it works great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skype better come up with something quick or they will start losing market share!, March 15, 2006
Do not buy this unit. I have tested the VoSky, IOGEAR and now US Robotics and they are ALL junk. While the speaker quality is acceptable the microphone sound quality is woefully inadequate. I do not understand why no one is capable of developing a hafway decent unit. And why are the SO SMALL!? The are so small as to be practically useless. The IOGEAR unit does not even incorporate mute and volume buttons.

Bottom line: Wait until someone comes out with a quality item or shell out big bucks and buy a Polycom and the Computer Calling Kit that is available through Polycom. (Even the Polycom Computer Calling Kit is analog! What is the problem!?)

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of junk, May 28, 2007
By J. Elkin (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I bought this from Circuit City today and it's going back tomorrow. The speaker quality is fair (not good, but not too bad), however the whole unit vibrates and jumps off the desk when you turn it up loud enough to not be right next to it (i.e., use it as a speakerphone!). The microphone is TERRIBLE and unusable. It is distorted and too quiet. When you turn up the level on the computer, you get an echo. No wonder the MSRP is $50 and everyone (Circuit City, Amazon, ...) is trying to get rid of them for $20.

This is a USB speakerphone of the worst quality I've ever seen. The sound quality is bad. My partner can hardly hear what I said. It is not the loudness but the echo. Read more
