Good fixed power scope, Sub $50 scope.,

This review is from: UTG Bug Buster 6X32 TS Mini AO Mil-Dot Scope (Sports)
Fixed Power is better for range finding with the mil dots.
This is light weight and compact with adjustable parallax and illuminated reticle. Includes a sun screen tube for the objective and end caps. It has good glass for a sub $50 scope Well made, sturdy and springer air rifle rated. I paid $35 and at that price it was a steal. The reasons I rated this down a bit are the following: Only 1" eye relief, OK for air rifles and .22 if you can mount it close enough, but this is a very poor choice on a rifle with heavy recoil. 6x is a bit better for target shooting but I prefer 4x for hunting as it gives a wider field of view. Also I rate the Leapers/UTG Golden Image 3-9X32 Full Size A.O mil dot at 5 stars. Which I consider to be a better, for about the same price, if you don't need a compact scope.

The Bug Buster Scope,

This review is from: UTG Bug Buster 6X32 TS Mini AO Mil-Dot Scope (Sports)
I bought this scope for my daisy 953 target pro to do some bug busting.
All in all I would say that these are built very well and am happy with the quality. The only thing I would change is to make the sight reticle a thinner because they are a bit thick on these and can block your view when you are shooting at something the size of a pellet hole or smaller @ 45 feet. I often use a blank sheet of paper, shoot a pellet hole through it and try to get pellets through the original pellet hole and you can do this with a daisy 953. The bug buster scope is a best buy with alot to like about it.

Great Low Cost Optic for AR Platform or Compact Rifle,
By Lobo (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: UTG Bug Buster 6X32 TS Mini AO Mil-Dot Scope (Sports)
Pros: Mini Adjustable Objective Scope with Mil-Dot, Red/Green Dual Illumination, Specifications: Magnification: 6X.; Tube Diameter: 1".; Objective Diameter: 32mm.; Field of View @100 Yards: 21.3' feet: Eye Relief: 3.0".; Exit Pupil: 4.5mm.; Click Value @100 Yards: 1/4".; Length: 7.8".; Weight: 13.2oz.; Parallax Setting: 3Yds - Infinity.; Batteries: CR1620 3V.Pretty much on the stats for what you get on this optic, the obj focus is the forward objective lens which is fine and adjusts easily. The Mil Dots are 6 inches apart at 100yards (standard mil dot optics are 3.6 inches at 100yds) making it easy to range animals if they are in the "kill zone" of trajectory or out of it for distance shooting without using a laser range finder when you need to seize the moment and close the shot or memorize the below data for what animal you are hunting: A fox at 9 inch: 2 mils at 75yds, 1.5 mils at 100yds, 1 mil at 150yd, 0.75 mil at 200yds, 0.5 mil at 300yd A coyote at ave 12 inch: 4 mil dots at 50, 2 mil dots at 100, 1 mil dot at 200, 0.5 at 400yd A deer at ave 18 inch back bottom of chest= 6 mil dots for 50yds, 3 mil dots at 100yds, 1.5 for 200yds, 0.75 at 400yds An Elk ave 24 inch chest to back, 8 mil dots at 50, 4 mil at 100, 2 mil at 200yds, 1.25 mil at 320yds, 1 mil at 400yds You don't always have to use a laser range finder for every distance for a quick, snap shoot and range estimate where the opportunity presents it's self and you seize the moment and make a quick range estimate. A 200yd zero on your rifle with this optic would work very well. The bullet's trajectory path would arc at an offset at 25 or 50yds and come down at 200yd. You would have to run the ballistic data through a freeware program such as JBM or Berger to make the most of this 6X optic. Both are available online as freeware. Basic deer, coyote hunting, elk hunting applications from a basic all around hunting optic I prefer this 6X to get a good field view and have enough zoom without overkill in loss of field of view or too much magnification to point and shoot with a 200yd zero to the rifle to cover a flat trajectory for a .308 Win., .243 Win, 6.8 SPC, 6.5 Grendel (Light to Medium Recoil Rifle use 6lb-15lb recoil) This optic's glass was clear, had great field of view, just the right magnification and good eye relief of 3 inches which was right on it's stat description. Mine is mounted on a AR10 carbine platform in .308 Win. If I had a Remington R-25, this would be an excellent optic to complement it because there are few optics out there that are compact enough other than ACOG 7.62's or ELCAN 7.62's that go with the AR10 platform well without ruining it's handling characteristics and ending up with a mobile DMR platform with a large scope rather than a streamlined hunting platform for taking game easily at 200yd and under where over 95% of hunting takes place. You could put a 12-14 inch scope on an AR10 carbine, but I would not want to stalk hunt or go mobile with it on the ground. A 6X is about the right mix in power and small signature length that this optic offers. Cons: None. Bottom Line: Other more expensive optics have Bullet Drop Reticles, trajectory adjusting turrets, etc, but they are more longer in length than this optic and 5-6X+ the price. If you are going to go long range shooting, 200+, this optic is definitely not the one to buy since it is a specific zero range optic with no adjusting long range trajectory turrets. However in my hunting experience, unless I am after Mountain goat, sheep, antelope, I don't need all those extra functions and variables to do my shooting at 200yds and under. At 200yds and under, this little guy does it fine and fits a foot print to offer a simple compact AR Carbine optic / ultralight compact rifle optic for general hunting use without hurting your wallet and can be treated a little rough without regret.
