Good Bipod, Bad Height,

Initially, looks sweet on my gun. Its easy to fold up and down with your support hand.
PROS: Swivels left and right easily only when gun is resting on it Attaches to a weaver/picatinny rail or sling swivel Comes with a sling swivel stud attachment Spring-loaded legs for uneven terrain All metal construction CONS: Too short for rifles with large capacity magazines SUMMARY: Great bipod, but not able to be used with rifles that have high capacity magazines (AK's, AR's, Mini-14). For instance, it will not work with an AR-15 or AK-47, due to the magazine length, but would work with hunting rifles, long range pistols or, if you're weird, a shotgun. As for durability, it's indestructable. I think it is worth the money, given that it's so inexpensive.

UTG bipod,

First, I have 2 of these now. The one I just ordered has the rubber feet and the other one has the steel feet. These are low bi-pods. The finish is high quality and I have not noticed any wearing except where the legs fold up but of course that is metal on metal. For the most part it does not scratch easily. The aluminum used appears to have a hardened finish on it. These are made to be set up quickly and be light on the gun. They attach either by way of the weaver rail or it comes with a bi-pod adapter with sling mount.I have no problem with using a regular 30 round mag with it. These types of bi-pods are generally not used laying in the prone. Generally they would be used in a window sill, on a ledge of some kind, the top of a wall, from a car hood to name a few . However even in a prone position there is no problem with the mag hitting against the ground(when you use proper shooting form). What I like about these is they can be set up on the fly. They can be set up quietly. There are no noisy springs. The legs lock in solid. The height is adjustable from 175 mm to 185 mm. By way of a locking knurled collar. The legs are spring activated so they pop out when the collar is loosened. When not in use they fold forward out of the way. but can quickly be deployed one handed. It is compact enough, most of the time I leave the legs deployed. If you are looking for a compact bi-pod that has all of the features of the big boys. This is the one for you.

Bipod too short for tactical rifles,

UTG has several different models of this same bipod, differing only in how much extension the legs have. This product is the "S" model, whose legs only extend 0.8", which is too short to be of any value for tactical rifles. It is DEFINITELY not a SWAT/Combat Profile, as described. I should have heeded the other reviews before I ordered it for my Mini-14 and SIG 522. If you have a tactical rifle, DO NO order this bipod. I'm stuck with it now, as it will cost 25% of the cost to return it.

Good inexpensive plinker bipod,

This review is from: UTG Bipod, SWAT/Combat Profile, Adjustable Height (Sports)
I've purchased several (well, many actually) UTG products and they are typically serviceable, if not always top shelf. I decided to give this UTG bipod a try on my Ruger 10/22. Added to an ATI Strikeforce folding stock, this mounts perfectly to the provided underbelly picatinny rail mount. As other reviews have stated it is short, however, that makes it perfect for prone shooting witht the Ruger and the stock helical magazines.
This unit is made of metal (the generical clip on UTG is made of polymer). Not too heavy to be burdensome whilst shooting from a standing position with the bipod folded, but, of course, it does add some weight. When prone with the bipod in use, it works very nicely combined with a Burris 3-9X40 scope for 50-100yd target shooting in very small groups.

great inexpensive bipod,

bought this for an AR target rifle. great bipod. its simple in construction and fits on in a snap. its a little heavy for its size. but is very sturdy. it can be a bit short in a fully extended position. my 30 round mags dont let the stock rest. can be fixed with a riser or a "toe" for my stock. very impressed for the money i spent. i have a few harris bipods, as much as i love them. they cost so much, and their spring actions can be such a pain sometimes....if u have a 5K precision rifle skip this. if you have an AR and want a bipod "option" i cant see what you would get from a more expensive one.

Description is WRONG!!!!,

The description of this item states that it is expandable from 11" to 14.5". This is very wrong!!! It is HALF of that!! Even the box says 6.2"-6.7". So don't plan on using this on an AR with a 30 round mag, because it will not be high enough. Other than that it seems well built and good quality. I would return it but it would be a bigger pain than it is worth, since I bought it with something else to get me over the $25 mark to get the free shipping. So the low rating is because of the description, not the item itself. Seems like it is worth the $20.

Poor machining,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UTG Bipod, SWAT/Combat Profile, Adjustable Height (Sports)
This bipod came with a poorly machined swivel stud adapter. It's just ever-so-slightly bad enough to keep me from being able to pass the fastening bolt cleanly through the swivel stud on my new rifle and get it started in the grooves of the smaller hole on the opposite side of the adapter. Tried for more than 90 minutes, not including a trip to the hardware store for a better precision screwdriver. If I had a gun vise, I could lock down the rifle and probably get enough leverage to wrestle the tiny fastening bolt into the grooves. In my lap or on a table, it's not happening without major risk of the screwdriver slipping off the tiny bolt and gouging my rifle stock. I'm flipping FURIOUS! The bipod itself appears quite solid and well-functioning (after a couple squirts of WD-40 on the moving areas), but the low-quality machining of the swivel stud adapter forces me to downgrade this product to two stars. Shame on me for expecting better of a cheap Chinese product, you get what you pay for.

Good product, not right for me,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UTG Bipod, SWAT/Combat Profile, Adjustable Height (Sports)
I bought this to stabilize the front of my semi-automatic rimfire M4 style rifle. The only problem is the legs don't extend far enough to allow my 25-round magazine to clear the ground from a prone position. When I shoot from a table with an opening for my magazine, this bipod works just perfect. I just should have measured my forearm elevation requirement over the total depth needed to clear my magazine first. If you have a light to medium weight rifle with a 10-round mag (or so) or shorter standoff requirement, this is the bipod for you. This is my second as my NcStar bipod never made it beyond the gun show. One leg failed on the NcStar when I started to install it on my rifle. This UTG model is much more robust in design and durability.

UTG Bipod,

This review is from: UTG Bipod, SWAT/Combat Profile, Adjustable Height (Sports)
This bipod absolutely sucks! Bought it for my AR-15 and have used it at the range multiple times. After about the first 5 shots, every screw holding this thing together comes loose. The legs have to much sway to them causing the gun to sit at an angle. Cheap products come with cheap results and this is a good example of that! Do not buy!

Can't handle the recoil on a 30-06. Legs will sink if extended when you fire. They also have a tendency to fold when fired from a Remington 700.............
