5.0 out of 5 stars Best Tactical Vest EVER!!! (for sizes XL - 3XL), March 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: UTG Law Enforcement Tactical XXL Broad-Built Vest, Black (Sports)
I absolutely love this vest. If you are a size XL - 3XL (I think it will even do the ranges of L - 4XL, but can't be sure), then this vest is for you. It is fully adjustable on both sides with a total of six straps. There are even straps to hide the extra webbing so it doesn't dangle. I love how they thought of everything on this vest.

CONS:
-There is no Velcro on the back to add a unit patch or identification patch. (ex. SWAT or POLICE) These would need to be sewn on or glued on. Other option (what I did) is to glue loop Velcro onto the back, so patches can be added or removed as desired.
-The clip on the pistol holster isn't designed for a quick release. It is just one of those plastic buckles where you press both sides and pull the buckle apart. That extra second or two could mean your life. Rely on it only as a backup pistol if you are using this for law enforcement or other life threatening work. (I suggest using a tactical leg holster instead)
-Similar issue with the two horizontal pouches on the Duty belt. They have the side release clips, so I wouldn't use them for anything you might need in a hurry like a tactical baton or pepper spray. They are better for small flashlights, etc...

PROS:
-It comes with the attached duty belt that is adjustable (and removable). The duty belt by itself would cost half the amount of this whole package.
-Fully Adjustable.
-Cross draw holster replaceable with two more rifle mag pouches (included). = I suggust purchasing a tactical leg holster for your pistol. Make sure it has a clip where it attaches to the belt though for easy on/off from the vest. It takes a while for me to take my tactical holster off because of how the duty belt is attached to the vest.
-Loop Velcro available on right breast for name tape identification = just remove the sniper bullet holder. (I love Velcro!)
-The pistol holster is very versatile. It holds my SIG .45, and my issued SIG 9mm 226 just as easy as my .22 pistol.
-Very comfortable to wear for long periods of time.
-You can't beat the price.
-Well built. I wasn't expecting it to be so heavy duty. I was pleasantly surprised.
-Tons of pouches! Lots of storage space on this vest! There are even two horizontal pouches on the Duty belt (for a tactical baton, pepper spray, and/or pistol mags)

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't beat the quality for the price!, June 1, 2010
This review is from: UTG Law Enforcement Tactical XXL Broad-Built Vest, Black (Sports)
I like this vest. It takes a little adjusting(there are plenty of adjustment straps, which is a good thing) to get it to fit just right, but over-all it's easy to wear. LOADS of mag pouches, and additional pouches for all kinds of stuff. The MOLLE straps on the back of the vest make it easy to attach a hydration bag, first aid pouch...ETC, ETC, ETC! It's not quite a military SF-grade product, but for the price you can't beat the quality. I only gave it 4 stars because I haven't tested it in the field yet.
