3.0 out of 5 stars Fairly short eye relief
With a title like "Extra Long Eye Relief" this scope does not deliver. It is compact and stays true to point-of-aim, but the eye-relief is way too short. My intent was to mount to my Mosin-Nagant, but now I'll put it on a .22 rifle and find a scope better suited to my needs.

I have not used, and probably won't, the illumination feature. I have not had the scope long enough to tell about zero retention and durability, but for people like me who don't shoot in cold, wet or foggy weather, this is a great little scope at an amazing price. This is what you need if you are an old near sighted guy who when using iron sights would either have to decide between seeing the target or the sights.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy!, March 31, 2011

I purchased this scope to mount on my DPMS AR-15 Classic. The long eye relief was a major factor in why I made this choice. I had previously mounted another scope with around 3" of eye relief and had problems reaching the charging handle of the AR-15 under the scope's eyepiece. With the extended eye relief, this scope mounted a couple of inches forward of where the old scope was. This position keeps the scope out of the way of the charging handle and even allows flipping the iron sights without removing the scope. For my use, 4X is just the right amount of magnification and choosing this model over a zoom scope gives me better performance for a scope in this price range.

The scope comes packaged with the rings, flip-up covers, allen wrench, cleaning cloth, two batteries, and a laminated range-estimating chart for the Mil-Dot feature. While it's not a $300 Leupold, the view through the scope is decently bright. The illuminated recticle is a nifty feature, but I don't know if I'll actually use it much. For daylight use, you really won't even need to bother installing a battery. Overall, I'm very pleased with value of this purchase. You get a very usable scope for your dollar.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good scope for the price, December 4, 2010

I have this scope mounted on my Smith and Wesson M&P 15-22. I rings are low and not recommended for mounting to an AR style flat top. They are decent quality for use on a .22, I wouldn't use them with a higher caliber rifle. You will need high rings or a riser to be able to use the lens caps. The caps work but are not as nice as the Butler Creek flip up caps.

Using CCI standard velocity ammo and a bipod at 50 yards it's easy to get 2" groups. I have yet to test the scope on a bench rest.

The illuminated reticle helps when the sun starts to go down. The eye relief is nice and allows mounting ahead of your rear BUIS.

The scope comes with extra batteries for the illumination as well as a cleaning cloth.

I could nitpick little things like the quality of the threads on the turret caps or the clarity of the lenses. But for $60 it does exactly what I need it to do. A good scope for short to medium range plinking.

My big complaint is with the way it was packaged by Amazon. I ordered the scope with a UTG bipod. Both were in a box with just one of those inflatable bags inside. I'd expect more care to be taken when packing optics. Ideally there shouldn't be things banging around your scope in transit.

I purchased this and the tactedge 4x32 and they both turned out to be identical to each other. There was one huge difference and that is the eye relief. This scope has a fantastic eye relief compared to the slightly cheaper tactege scope. Quality of the scope is good and the clarity of the image is crystal clear. The knobs were a little tight when I first tried it out but with a little turning they loosened up. Illumination is great and I can't wait to get this out to the range.

5.0 out of 5 stars UTG 4x32 ELER, July 13, 2011

This scope DOES have the advertised eye relief of 5". In fact it is usable between 4 and 6 inches, giving the shooter plenty of versatility, though it isn't optimal at either extreme. It looks and feels very well built. The illumination wheel is pretty tight, but the brightness is fully adjustable. The optics are perfectly clear at 50+ yards, have not tested at 100+. The included picatinny rings are very low, and the scope barely, I mean barely clears the rail. Flat-top users might look into taller rings or a riser.

Both this scope and the cheaper Tactedge 4x32 are built by Leapers. If you're like me and don't like having a scope that barely clears your eye protection, this is the easy choice to make. The included lens caps are a nice touch.

Range test update:
Sig 522 (22LR) with this scope on a medium picatinny riser, front rails and a grip pod (bipod)
300 rounds CCI MiniMag @ 50 yards

Parallax is fixed at 100 yards, but the effect was imperceptible at 50. The adjustment knobs have a positive click to them, 1 click is 1/4" @ 100y, so in my case 1/8" @ 50y.

The center of my initial grouping was 4" high and 1/2" to the left. I adjusted 32 clicks down and 4 to the right. My next grouping was 1 1/2" about the bulls eye, confirming that the clickwheel adjustment is very accurate.

The illumination was all but useless against the paper target. During all of the following rounds, the scope stayed zeroed. I am very impressed at not only the value of the UTG scope, but it's quality regardless of price. My friends would not believe how little I paid.

I bought this scope for my AR-15.

Initially I was concerned about the quality of this scope, but I must say the concerns were misplaced. The scope looks great and the image quality is awesome. The view through the scope is of a good size and is quite clear. The longer eye relief, the thickness of the crosshairs and the mil dots make this scope perfect for an AR. Also, the level of illuminated is perfect and doesn't turn the barrel of the scope into a light show.

I would definitely recommend this scope to an AR owner. Hope the review helps.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Scope, November 2, 2011

I just got my scope this afternoon..This is a thing of beauty,And just what ive come to expect from utg products and amazon.com.I got a 1 inch utg riser mount to go with it and mounted it on my DPMS+Plumcrazy ar15..Even without my see through rings here yet,The front sight is seemingly non-existant through my objective lens(for you slower ones, that means i cant see it at all..LoL) In all seriousness,if you are doubting this scope for the price like i was.."DONT" It is perfect for an ar15 or anything else you can mount it on.So if your out to spend a little and get alot "BUY IT".I will say, it is nine inches- and so is the scope..LoL..But with the angled sunshade and the caps on its about 10 and a half inches,But still it fits perfect on my flat top. Thanks again utg and amazon..Another happy camper.Five stars all around, and thankyou to the guy who wrote the review about getting the riser mount...Peace and happy shooting!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Everything but the lighted reticle, October 6, 2011

It's all good except the reticle lighting is stupid. It's on a potentiometer, so you can dial in a little or a lot, a cool thing. But the whole reticle is visible from the eyepiece, and the whole reticle lights up. All my other scopes (some by UTG included) have an internal baffle so you can't see this side effect. Very strange that they would skip that step on this scope, it's not THAT cheap! If you are on your cheek weld you don't see anything unusual, so I guess it's a minor complaint.

Ok, with that out of the way, the scope weighs 11.8 oz on my digital scale (10.8 claimed) and is nice and clear. Adjustments appear to be accurate, we were setting it up at 25 yards and I was doing the math in my head, but it seemed to come out right. The included 1" rings are ridiculous, I had some rings in mind when I purchased so I just set the low rings aside. Nothing wrong with them but the height. I'm shopping for another scope now, but this one is near the top of my list. I may get an unlit scope and avoid all that, or I may just get another one of these... haven't decided. I have a nice killer scope on my AR, but it weighs >22 oz without rings, that's where a simpler scope shines.

I'll check, if there aren't any good pix I'll see about putting some up; If you can see the problem before you buy, you can make a better informed decision.

i had an fm optics 3-9x26 scope and wanted more zoom. even though this is a fixed 4x32 it still has more power than the 3x9 at the ninth power. this scope is much more clear with a bigger picture and the long eye relief makes it easy to quickly aquire a target. its a little bigger in size than i was looking for, since i have this mounted on my amralite ar-15 carry handle, but with the price and precision of this scope i'll just get over it lol.

I purchased this scope for use as a scout scope on a 91/30 mosin nagant, unfortunately there is just not enough eye relief to be used. Instead I mounted it on my AK-47 and it works perfectly. She scope is very solid and I would recommend it, just not for a scout Mosin Nagant. I would check into the Konuspro pistol scopes if you need a scout scope(16inch eye relief)
