5.0 out of 5 stars Warning: This is a duty belt
This is a well made belt. However, it is a duty belt, and as such it is too wide for normal use. The webbing is 2" in width and the buckle is 2 3/8". This is a great product, just be aware it is a heavy duty duty belt, not just a heavy duty belt.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too tight.
I sent off for the Leaper belt because the company claims it fits up to a 55 waist. I have a 48 waist and when I tried it on, the belt was not even close, even with adjustments on both sides. The product is of good quality, but putting it through belt-loops, over pants, and still have a good fit. Will not happen, even though it saids it will.

I have a 50 watt light that mounts on my video camera. It's powered by a cumbersome battery pack which provides enough juice for about an hour of illumination. I have two of these brick-sized lead sinkers. Each came with a belt loop but no belt. The UTG belt is substantial enough to support the combined weight of both batteries comfortably on my hips, and comes with a quick release clasp. It's the ideal solution.

What more needs to be said? A sturdy, functional, heavy duty web belt for a decent low price. For me, it provides the fundamental framework for my camera belt rig. For you it might support tools or a sidearm along with a few spare mags. Whatever you choose to hang on it, the only way you'll hold more is with a full LBE rig.

A "web" belt historically meant a friction buckle to remove the need for holes and produce a one size fits all for cheap military (or scout) uniforms. Today a variety of light weight plastic clasps with some adjustment feature allow a belt to be tuned to one particular size especially with nylon allowing it to be cut and flame melted. I paid $6 for it but see it is now going for $10.

Heavy duty usually means resistant to wear and tear but here simply refers to the oversized width (2 inches). For a true HEAVY duty belt one should check out a surplus military grade belt (<$10) or get a real police grade belt like the Bianchi Accumold 7200 Black Nylon Duty Belt or the Boston Leather duty belt or at least get a leather tool belt like the Style n Craft 74-052 2-Inch Work Belt in Heavy Top Grain Oiled Leather, 32-Inch to 46-Inch for $12 (and cut to size).

Those looking instead, however, for a small and lighter tech, wadding, or runners web belt (as many buyers clearly mistook this for) should instead check out stuff like the Mountain Hardwear Double Back Belt, Patagonia Tech Web Belt - Men's, Alloy Nut Belt by Mountain Hardwear, Stretch Wading Belt, or SPIbelt - Small Personal Item Belt - Great for Runners! (with a pocket).

this belt is not useful for carrying any weapons or accessories because it unbuckles rather easily. the buckle was not designed with safety in mind. if you intend to carry weapons and accessories i would not recommend this belt.

2.0 out of 5 stars Web Belt? No. Just a cheap copy, August 11, 2011

I would not consider this to be a web belt, let alone a heavy duty web belt. As a retired military man, I know what a real "heavy duty" web belt actually is. And this is not it. I would consider this to be a light weight, light duty belt. I used this in conjunction with a shoulder harness, and it wasn't a very good match. It started to fray within a month after using it 4 to 5 times a week. I ended up replacing it with a military surplus web belt, which is what I should have gone with in the first place.

4.0 out of 5 stars TALL belt, may not fit on most pant loops. But excellent., January 28, 2011

First off, the most important thing you need to know is that, as other reviews mentioned, this is a very tall, thick belt, and WILL NOT fit thru the loops on most pants.

It looks like its designed as a duty belt. Its fully velcro lined on the inside (loop, not hook), so you can either get a velcro 'inner' belt on your pants that has the hooks on the outside, and wear this belt outside your pants as a true duty belt, or you can find pants that have extra tall loops designed for duty belts.

It fits in both my Propper brand, and Dickies brand EMS pants, perfectly.

Since its very very long, for adjusting to a large amount of waist sizes, it for those of you who are skinny, it might be doubled back pretty far, I simply had a tailor cut about 8 inches off, and adjust the location of the velcro hooks, now it fits my 34 inch waist with about 4-6 inches of adjustment left in case i get fat again.

Very strong belt, appears to be very good quality, and supports everything on my belt without sagging.

I'm going to order a second one, and keep one threaded thru each pair of duty pants full time, since its plastic and fabric, it can stay on during the wash cycle.

Good quality, max lenght 130 centimeters, width 5, thickness 0.4
I use it over pants, don`t install in the belt loops and quickly removed my ammunitions
