I just received this vest about a week ago and havent had time to write a review so that is what I am doing now, hah. Anyway this is one of the best vests that I have purchaced; It is made of very durable material, I can tell I will have it for quite some time. All the pouches fit my gear quite well, aside for my radio which was a tad small, but it still fits with a little force. I really like the design of the velcro/button pouch fasteners, very handy when holding gear that dosnt fit all the way. It is easy to size the top strap on the pistol hoster with this ingenious plastic thing that comes with the vest. One downside is that the holster is a little small and holds medium to small size handguns, so I have to use my larger thigh holster for my Desert Eagle. But it fits my Glock and Berreta easily. Now reguarding the other pouches there are: Two rifle magazines, two handgun magazines, a radio, a misc. gear, a flashlight, and a baton pouch. Not to mention there is a fairly large zipper pouch on the back, good for all sorts of goodies. Also on the back there is a decent patch of velcro for any sort of ID things (Police, Team, Number, Etc). Another plus is that the shotgun shell loops are removable with a velcro backing, could put really anything velcro there too. Now before I start to ramble on and on I should bring this to a close. All in all it is a great vest, and I recomend it to anyone looking for a combat vest at a decent price.

Actually I purchased this with camping in mind not storming into criminal lairs :). I really like the snap and velcro closures. They make me feel that my stuff is secure. I was a little worried about the size as I'm a bigger guy 200lbs at 5'7" but there is a almost infinitely adjustable stretchy lace on both sides you can use to adjust the size.

Excellent Vest!,
This review is from: UTG Law Enforcement SWAT Vest (Sports)
I've had this vest for over a year now. It's great, absolutely wonderful. Very intuitive to use. Fits comfortably for me (5ft 10, 150 lbs)and not too snug or loose with plenty of room for adjustments. I use mine for airsoft and all. I was even able to hand paint the Punisher logo on there, and it looks fantastic. Highly recommend!

Not for Law Enforcement Use,

Good looking vest but does not work well for law enforcement officials. This has a right hand holster that is upright with a left handed thumb release so it's hard to release. Who makes a right handed holster with a thumb release that you cannot use your thumb to release? The handgun magazine pouches are on the left side for a right hand release instead of left so you cannot do a tactical reload. Imagine that in a gun fight!!!!!! I think this vest is just ok for play use not for serious tactical police application. The pistol magazines should be on the opposite side and the handgun holster should tilt (cant) for easy crossdraw. For tactical use, I wouldn't recommend. Spend more and get something that works well. It fits well though.

Good and Bad,

First, I received the vest very quickly, I liked the way most of the compartments are arranged. Then I loaded it up, and discovered that a 1911, Commander model does not fit! It slips out the bottom, making the weapon all but inaccessible and the bottom of the magazine well rubs on ar mags that are exposed at the top. I paid too much for that gun to get it torn up like that. Also noted is that the smaller magazine pouches don't fit single stack mags well, but I did like the additional pouch and velcro area on the back of the vest. I will modify the holster and will only use 20 round mags on that side so all metal will be covered. Overall not bad if I ever purchase another I will spend a little more and put things exactly where I want them.

Insanity...,

This is simply the most amazing, cost-efficient, white-knuckle tactical SWAT vest on the market today. Now, I do plan to provide a cogent and thorough review of this product, but I do need to get one small detail out of the way first: WOO-HOO FINALLY CHEST-MOUNTED SHOTGUN SHELL STRAPS FTW OMFG!!!
Ahem. Now, as I was saying, you just CAN'T find another garment of this caliber (pun certainly intended) for sale to the general public: as the name suggests, quality of this level is usually reserved for law enforcement professionals, military special forces operators, and ninjas. So it is definitely a rare privilege to be able to join the ranks of the elite, and the real icing on the cake? The low cost of admission made possible by UTG and Amazon. They should dedicate an issue of Marvel Team-Up to tell the tale of two such titanic titans, perhaps one day... Now, I'm no Delta, but I do walk around strapped up and loaded for bear whenever I undertake important missions, be it marathon sessions of Diablo II or taking my snub-nosed attack terrier out for personal hygiene. Because you NEVER KNOW what can happen. The other day, a loitering vagrant asked me for $0.86 so he could procure a bottle of a tonic dubbed "King Cobra" (which later investigative discovery revealed as a type of premium malt liquor). I was unprepared that day, and thus he sauntered off with a fistful of my change, laughing heartily. Incensed, I returned home to ponder the superstitiousness and cowardice of the criminal lot, and lo, an omen rose forth from the ether. A dark vision of pockets and pouches, elastic straps, hook-and-loop fasteners, and incalculable octane. Thus it was that out of the shadows of despair, in the fiery crucible of an angry heart, that my destiny was forged and given mortal form: UTG Law Enforcement SWAT Vest. I don't believe in "magazines," or other methods of consolidating ammunition for ease of use. Relying on these cheats degrades personal discipline, and leads to wasteful consumption of critical materiel. So, the elastic shoulder loops are perfect for holding individual 5.56 rounds which I hand load through the breech after every melon-popping headshot. It might be slow, but with the UTG SWAT Vest time is your unwitting ally, intimidated into submission by the obvious tactical superiority of this armor. Also, this leaves the front pouch free to hold my iPhone so I can check gas prices or play Angry Birds to drown out my friends when they tell me I am a delusional loser. The pen-shaped item loop, a mission-essential component which allows me to effortlessly ammend my grocery list or balance my checkbook on the fly, must be experienced to be believed. Its that good. The Ballistic-grade nylon construction is key, and makes this vest so comfortable I frequently find myself wearing it and nothing else as I engage the enemy that is pet dander on Sunday mornings. I normally won't holster my weapon in anything that isn't produced by a manufacturer without an exclamation point at the end of its name (blackHAWK!) but the integrated side-arm sleeve is perfect for run-and-gun ops and a welcome addition during the long drive to the San Diego Comic Con. And yes, the shotgun shell carrier. Pretty self-explanitory. If there's ONE place, and one place only where I need access to shotgun shells during a heated firefight, this is it. When you've got piecemeal ammunition mounted to your chest, people KNOW they better think twice about asking a tough like you for 86 freakin' cents. Bet on that. If you're on the fence about this one, grow a pair and buy it now. You'll never regret it.

Coolest Vest EVER!!! Make Police Officers On Your Block Take A Second Look!!!,
By Chris Holloway (Baltimore, Maryland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: UTG Law Enforcement SWAT Vest (Sports)
Yeah, this vest is just COMPLETELY AWESOME! There's no other way to put it. It looks sweet ('cuz it's JET BLACK which equals the ULTIMATE AWESOME!!!), it's very functional, and it's VERY DURABLE! What more can you expect from UTG? Their top-of-the-line merchandise gets me every time. And this vest looks so freakin' awesome. It'll DEFINITELY make the police officers on your block look twice! Is that good or bad? I dunno.
But on a more technical note. This vest really does have it all. It's adjustable even for the SMALLEST dude or babe. It fits me VERY SNUG after I pulled a few strings and adjusted the velcro on the shoulders. I'm only 5' 5" and weigh about 106 lbs. It can get even tighter than that, but it was perfect enough for me. I use my vest for airsofting & it works perfectly for just about anything from doing D.I.Y. projects around the house to Halloween night and dressing up as your favorite S.W.A.T. man! My ONLY issue with this vest is the side adjustable strings. Even before you adjust the strings on the sides, they're already hanging kind of low, so if you adjust them even tighter they are REALLY going to hang low. That's a problem for me. Not really a BIG one but very annoying to look at. What I did was just put the hanging part of the strings in the back pouch of the vest to get them out of the way. PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Other than that, this vest has the WORKS!!! It comes with shotgun shell holders, sniper bolt holders, rifle mags, pistol mags, a First-Aid or radio pouch, a flashlight or pepper spray holster, and some other storage holsters...not to mention EVERYTHING is adjustable through velcro technology...oooh ahhh!!! Another awesome thing, is that it has a holster already built in so you don't have to spend extra money to get a leg or a belt holster. Although if you are not RIGHT-HANDED when it comes to your pistol, then the holster won't be any good to you. But, other than that, this vest is the REAL DEAL!!! 5 OUT OF 5 STARS BABY!!! Pros: -Feels EXTREMELY Durable -Jet Black (which is awesome to me!) -Everything Is Adjustable -Very Comfortable Fit (it can adjust to ANYONE'S SIZE, and I mean ANYONE!!!) -Built-in Right-Handed Pistol Holster (but I guess this could be an issue if you're Left-Handed) -Pouches For ANY & EVERYTHING Cons: -Side Adjustable Strings Hang Too Low, Get In The Way, & Are Very Annoying
