5.0 out of 5 stars Designed for the original style AK-47 stock.
The opening for this slip-on butt pad is 10.2cm x 2.8cm, a sort of oval-rectangular shaped opening.

There! That was simple! Now you can go and measure your rifle buttstock and see if this will fit. Amazon really should put more info like that in their listings.

3.0 out of 5 stars AK-47 Combat Butt Pad
I couldn't see anyone using this pad in combat but I guess they had to name it something.
The good: It is an excellent Butt Pad for absorbing recoil, couldn't ask for any better.
The bad: It will not stay on the weapon. It fits loosely and comes off easily and frequently. One way I have found to solve this problem is to use velcro self adhesive tape about 1/2...

The opening for this slip-on butt pad is 10.2cm x 2.8cm, a sort of oval-rectangular shaped opening.

There! That was simple! Now you can go and measure your rifle buttstock and see if this will fit. Amazon really should put more info like that in their listings.

This butt pad is designed for the small, narrow original style AK-47 buttstock with the metal plate screwed on at the end. Tapco makes a version of this original AK-47 style buttstock.

The confusion comes from the fact that there are so many other buttstocks made now for AK-47s and Saigas that yours may be quite different. For sure, the "M4 style" or any sort of collapsible buttstock patterned after the M4 are quite a bit larger and so WILL NOT FIT. What you want is something like the Tapco T6 butt pad, which is designed for M4 style buttstocks.

This butt pad adds an inch of firm rubber padding and arm extension. It does a nice job of cushioning the kick from the Saiga-12, compared to the thin metal plate of the original style AK-47 buttstock.

As a couple of other reviewers have noted, this UTG butt pad fits loosely on the original style AK-47 buttstock. A few gobs of Goop glue in the butt pad solves that problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great AK Accessory, April 13, 2011

The UTG model 47 Combat Butt pad is the perfect addition to the venerable AK. The length of pull is much improved and the pad is well designed to improve the contact area in the shoulder area when shooting. If you've read this far do yourself a favor and hit the buy button !

4.0 out of 5 stars Will NOT fit UTG AK Collapsible Stock Combo Kit, March 21, 2011

This will work fine with a standard AK stock. Will not work with a AR style stock such as the UTG AK Collapsible Stock Combo Kit. They show them as many purchase it with the UTG stock but it won't come close to fitting it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It fits perfect but you need to heat it up first., July 20, 2011

I bought this and the utg ak collapsible stock at the same time. When it showed up I didn't think this could ever fit due to being about an inch shorter then the stock. Put it in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes and it will stretch. It fits like a glove and doubt it will come off unless I work at it. I'm glad I bought it.

I almost gave this butt pad 5 stars but I feel that it could be improved. I purchased it for my Saiga 12 that wears a Tapco butt stock. The thing was beating up my shoulder pretty bad so I looked into getting a Limbsaver but could not find one that fit since they make them for full size shotgun stocks.

This butt pad is one piece that slips on the stock and is held there by friction. Unfortunately the fit is not as tight as I would have liked and I have to be careful when raising the stock to my shoulder so that I don't knock it off. I will be trying to figure out a modification that will help make it a tighter fit or maybe just a spot or two of super glue.

The pad reduced the recoil more than I expected and made the gun much more enjoyable to shoot espectially with magnum loads.

Overall considering the price I think it is a good product.

The good: It is an excellent Butt Pad for absorbing recoil, couldn't ask for any better.
The bad: It will not stay on the weapon. It fits loosely and comes off easily and frequently. One way I have found to solve this problem is to use velcro self adhesive tape about 1/2 inch wide and about an inch or so long. Place one piece on the rifles' original Butt Plate and the other half inside the "Combat Butt Pad", that will keep it in place..Pretty good deal for the money.

If you want to install this to your original WASR butt stock then forget about it. It does not fit right and it comes loose just by flicking it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Just okay for Arsenal AK-47 SGL-21., September 28, 2011

I got this for my Arsenal AK-47 SGL-21. K-Var stock was leaving red marks on my shoulder, so I needed something to prevent this. This item does it's job but could fit better. It's pretty good for a universal. This slips on easy, but can easily come off with a slight bump or small amount of pressure. If you are not using the small compartment in the butt stock to store an AK cleaning kit, then you can put a couple drops of super glue to keep this in place. Feels great and is the answer for keeping my shoulder comfortable after a few hundred rounds through my AK. This also extends the stock about 1-2 inches, which is nice for the short stock.

Fits a little loose on the U.S. made K-Var butt stock it will need a little filler to secure it better.

I was skeptical at first but it slipped on my gsg akm with a minimum of struggle. I feels comfortable against my shoulder and adds about 2.5 inches of length, wich also feels better. It also adds a bit of a bottom lip to the buttstock, letting you shoot in a more high ride position
