The rail system looked well made and instructions for mounting were clear and easy to follow. All the screws and other equipment necessary for mounting were included. I followed the instructions and within a half an hour it was on the rifle I intended to test it on. I took the rifle to the range and after bore-sighting fired 5 shots to center the scope. I opened and closed the rail system over a dozen times during testing to see if it would lose zero but it held zero fine. My groups did not change through releasing and locking the rail back down and 150 rounds. I am tentatively satisfied with this UTG low profile rail system but will only give it four stars for now. Five stars will be granted when it still groups tight after 1200 rounds or more and still locks down tight. Also make sure to keep the "leaf" type spring which lies beneath the original AK rear sight. You will need this sheet metal spring to maintain tension on the UTG rail where it locks into the rear sight housing. The instructions included with the UTG rail fail to mention this.

I bought this as I wanted to have a good rail system for my WASR without breaking the bank. I wanted to have something which would allow me to use iron sights should my Optic fail (I have a Bushnell TRS-25 mounted on a QD rail which was the set up I wanted to run with this mount) so that I could go to irons should the optic become damaged/batteries die.

The Bad:
The rear sight on this is an absolute joke, it is less than worthless. In order for it to be of any use you would need to:
A) elevate your front sight above the protective ears
B) have a stock with a really long length of pull to be able to even see it.
It is something between a U notch and an Aperture but is actually neither. Also, you can wiggle the rear sight very easily.

The Good:
It mounts relatively easily (watch some youtube videos on removal/installation of AK Rear Sights). Mine was solid and did not move around once I had it mounted and I felt safe that it would hold zero.
It allows you to clean your rifle without having to remove the rail.

If you are looking for a long rail so you can use an optic and a magnifier, then this is probably a best buy as it gives you plenty of rail space, mounts solidly and is well made (with the exception of the rear sight). If you were hoping for something like the Krebs Rail then I would suggest you look elsewhere. Also, if you want something which will have a usable rear sight then I would suggest another product. I actually did not like this and ended up selling mine. I am going to get an Ultimak instead.

Great Product. I have installed on my M10-762 rifle. It does co-witness w/ front sight however you need to get used to a little bit since is u-shaped and not peep sight like the other reviewer said. Wish it was peep sight for a 5 starts.
No big deal because it improved my accuracy at 50 and 100 yrds (I can shoot soda cans at 100 yrds no problem using this rail). When looking thru u-shaped rear sight, it disappears and you focus on front post sight.
Looks to be good quality construction on aluminum but I still treat carefully. It was hard to install on rear do to removal of original rear leaf but it was me since it was my first time doing this removal. I'm sure it would be easy for other guys having done it before.
The rear part adjust back and forth to make sure it locks properly this is nice feature.
I recommend this product for a budget top rail. You could use TWS system or something else but way more expensive. $74 w/ shipping is great deal.

Nice quality product. The only reason it didn't get five stars is the rear sight sucks. If it was a peep sight easy five. I have had to completely take it off and reinstall it on the rifle several times for other stuff, not due to the rail itself and its still SOLID. Not sure how many times you can do that due to it being aluminum. But regular opening and closing via the button, no problems. I expect this thing to become very popular. Install is easy, 5 mins. Fit and finish are awesome, and I'm picky! It looks badass on the rifle. I am honestly surprised at the quality for the price, you cannot beat it. It also still allows you to easily clean the rifle, which would have been a deal breaker if I had to unscrew the rear every time I want to clean it. Also many options for placing your optics either close or far depending on your eye relief or optic type. I love this thing and I would buy it again if I didn't already have one!

For those of you complaining of looseness, right out of the box you cant expect this to be dialed in to every different rifle and fit perfectly. That's why you need to adjust it and make sure it locks up firm and preferably use Loctite. Theres a reason they make this thing adjustable!!! Also don't tighten the allen screws like a gorilla, use common sense its aluminum and strips out. And comparing it to a Krebs rail is just ridiculous, if that's what you want go ahead its $310!! This is $90!

The only thing I don't like about the AK platform is the lack of a proper picatinny system. My weapon already had the quad rail set up but it just isn't enough. Having a red dot sight sitting that far forward on the rifle is pretty much useless to me. This rail system allows me to use any kind of optics my heart desires. Installation took longer than I thought it should but I did not have the proper tool to remove the rear sight. I just used a small flat head screw driver. I have purchased several products from UTG and like the others, this one is very solid. I recommend this rail system to all AK owners. You can't beat the price vs value on this one.
