The first thing I do when I receive a product is scrutinize it and do my best to break it. Since I got this rail I have put it on several different weapons with variations in side rails; it fit everyone of them perfectly with minor adjustments that could be done by a blind monkey. It is easy and quick to mount. It sits nicely above the receiver and stays out of the way of all necessary equipment. It is quick and easy to take off - just in case you have optics failure and need to switch back to iron sights. The best thing I can say about this mount is that, after hastily removing it and reattaching (as may be needed in a tactical situation) the mounted optics and sight retained "0" position. Even after "bump-firing" the weapon, the mount maintained its integrity without loosening. I highly recommend this product. It is not only affordable, but reliable and well built. It is practical for both professional and recreational use. The seller was also superb. Great job UTG and Amazon!

Fits my Romanian Cugir WASR 10/63 AK-47 with a side-mount scope rail just fine. Was super easy to install and remove, and I didn't even need to adjust the tension screw out of the box. It doesn't budge when locked in place but is quick to unlock and remove when desired. I will buy more for my other AK-47s in the future.

This UTG QD worked flawlessly on my new Saiga .308. Once my proper scope mounts get here It will work even better. Mounted a nice scope w/a small
led on the side. I haven't had any problems with this item at all. I read plenty of reviews on other sites before I ordered the QD rail and all said the QD UTG rail was the best.
Pros: easy install, Slides on smoothly, easy scope & light or laser mount, oh and pretty light weight and built tough.
Cons: None that I can think of so far

If you are like me, you are always nervous when buying on amazon. Am i Getting Ripped off? Some reviews are good, some are bad, what am I getting? I received this scope on time, and right out of the box (like a kid on Christmas) I excitedly attached it to my WASR-10 7.63X39 AK 47. It fit right on, no pushing tweaking forcing or effort, it just slid right on like it was a original part of the gun. I was thrilled. It latched on tightly with the lever and held like a rock. Then popped it back off, and on, and off, and on a bunch of times and was amazed how easy it was and how good it latched on. The lever is not flimsy, as some say, not at all (cant see where they got that from). I was impressed, all of my scopes and red dots fit it, both picatinny and weaver. So the real test, took it to the range, fired for 2 hrs, till my gun was too hot to touch! It kept its zero just fine, thing holds like a champ. Next time to the range, still held zero, took it off, popped it back on, still dead on zero. Lastly its not way to the side like some AK side mounts, its pretty much right over the center, if i didn't know to look for this i never would have taken notice (almost all ak side mounts are a centimeter or so to the left or right if you didn't know, makes them look goofy). Its an awesome side mount, its not terribly expensive, if you are like me you have looked at this one for several days now and cant get the confidence to go ahead and buy it. So from another fellow nervous amazon buyer, go ahead, do it, the thing rocks, you will be pleased. Also not that it matters, it looks AWESOME! on the gun. If you found this helpful, mark it as so, then more can see this and feel better buying it with less stress.

The mount is mostly well made, with a few caveats: the locking handle is made from a soft steel, and can bend easily if pushed in any direction other than open/close. The dove tail came over adjusted, and was way too tight to slide easily over the gun's rail. I wasn't about to hammer it on, so I disassembled the mount and spread the rails slightly. After that the mount went on without a hitch. It is also easy to adjust the tension, as long as you keep in mind that adjustment screw is reverse thread.
The bottom of the mount is very close to the receiver cover, which is good if you don't have tall cheekrest, but also blocks the iron sights. That could be a problem in combat situation, which I don't foresee myself in anytime soon. Have to be careful of the edges, which are somewhat sharp.
The good points: solidly made, retains zero after removing/reinstalling (or at least as much zero as an AK variant needs), looks good on the rifle.

I bought this before I had a scope. It made my Saiga AK variant rifle look very nice. I finally purchases a Barska 6.5-20x50 and mounted it on. Just make sure you get the right ring mounts, I was tryin to put on the wrong ones from my 10/22. Check out my review and pictures on the Barska. Here are a couple of paragraphs from my other review:

The Mount: I went with a UTG 5th Gen. quick release mount since my Saiga has the mount "slot" on the left (opposite of the slide). It wraps over the dust cover sitting a little high which is perfect for the big 50mm front lens. This helped to not need taller mounts. Look for my review in the mount itself for more info. The mount alone sits tight and firm. When I mount the Barska scope it is still tight but, the scope is about half the size of the rifle which makes me wonder if it will become loose with the recoil. Let's go to the field.

Field Test: After sighting in scope I fired 40 rounds and ended my field test on day one a little off track at 50 yrds due to strong wind. On day two I used a laser bore sight and centered it at 50 yards fired 20 rounds, took off scope with quick release mount and slid it back on to test for accuracy after unmount/remount. Still centered, maybe 1/2 inch off at 50 yrds but it could have been me. Fired another 20, removed scope and mount again, remounted and fired another 5 and still good to go. Total shots fired after scope was sighted: 85. Some of my last shots were at 100 yrds and was able to hit some bulls eyes aiming about 4 inches lower to make up for the difference since it was sighted for 50 yrds. I removed the mount in order to know if I will be centered after cleanings. Looks like I will be okay.

I like the fact that most of the time you do not need any tools (a phillips screwdriver do adjust the lever once in a while I imagine). The price is great, under $30.

This scope mount is a quality accessory to an AK47. It is well crafted, fits securely when mounted, holds the scope's settings after being removed and reattached, and is easy to remove for ease of cleaning the weapon. The only catch to it for a new user is understanding that if the fit is too tight or too loose when first installed, it is the screw on the bottom that is the adjustment screw (and it turns backwards from the standard right/tight, left/loose. After the first 500 rounds, the scope settings were still accurate.

Installation is a snap. Mount is sturdy and ROCK SOLID. Has held zero with 2-7x scope with my AK74. Highly recommended!

After reading all the reviews i chose the utg 5th gen mount and am happy with it. my last side mount for my saiga 7.62 was a 3 piece design witch fell apart on me after 1000 rounds. I was looking for a 1 piece design to prevent just that.Once ordered the rail came in a timely manner, was a great buy and free shipping. The package came with the Utg mount and 2 machine screws for mounting various things thru a hole on the front and back of rail. Ive read reviews on the lever bending. The lever is just fine and wont bend unless (a) your dumb and cranking it down with to much force or (b) u have sausage fingers and don't know your right and left from your up and down. Once on the rifle it is solid and wont move. The top rail is not perfectly straight like other reviewers have stated but if mounting red dots or HWS it is just fine. you may want to consider a different one for long range optics. The rail just blocks the rear sight i consider this mount to be of a low profile.As for the extra rail on the side i don't have a use for it but depending on how you hold your gun you may block any thing mounted on the side rail

I purchased thus scope a month or so ago for my A&K Dragunov. Fits great with no wobbling. I'm loving it! My iron sights fired a little to the right, but I've set my scope right on.

Great price and it shipped in ten days or so, unlike the first one I ordered from another website that was back-ordered two months. Had to cancel that one and get this one from Amazon.
