Great for the fair-skinned,

I have fair freckly skin that burns easily and I often accidentally get sunburned because I don't realize I've been in the sun too long until it's too late. These wristbands help you decide when it's time to put on more sunscreen and time to get out of the sun. It's not completely obvious from the directions which colors mean "reapply sunscreen" and "get out of the sun", but I think it probably depends on how fair your skin is. I just reapplied sunscreen when it was sort of peachy-colored and got out of the sun when it started to get a little yellowy. Over the three sunny days boating on a lake, I didn't get even a little sunburned.

Makes days in the sun much easier,

These things are really smart for long days in the sun. You put them on before going outside, then apply sunscreen, completely covering the band. When you go out in the sun it turns bright purple. The band will start to fade the longer you stay out - you reapply sunscreen when it turns lavender. When the band turns almost white - it's time to go in.For someone with super pale skin who burns after being outside for a few minutes, these things are a lifesaver. I've spent 6 hours out in the blazing sun and been totally fine. Definitely a summer staple.

The wristbands do not work. They were tested by my daughter at a beach volleyball tournament here in South Florida...she tried two different bands and neither worked. I bought two packs and am sorry I did.

I ordered 2 packs for a 10 day trip to Disney this September. When they arrived the packs were only 5 not 7 as stated. It is still enough for our trip but not as advertised. I will complete a full review after I use the product.

Ordered "UVSunSense UV Monitoring Wristbands: 7 Pack". It even shows that on the packing slip. But I got a "5 pack" instead. The packages says "5 pack" and indeed only contains 5 of the wristbands.

These are not helpful in determining reapplication of sunscreen. Gave them a fair chance but after 4 days of these bands timing being completely off, I gave up. Total waste of money, wish I had not bought two packages. You are better off using your own judgement with reapplication of sunscreen to avoid risking a sunburn.

didnt realize there is a little more to them than just putting on your wrist...gave to 5yr and 8 yr old and the parents and although a good monitoring device, not too sure I would do again...Not bad though!!!!! was fun for the kids watching the bands change.!

garbage, don't rely on it.,

This is a piece of garbage, don't rely on this item to assist you in the monitoring of your childs exposure to the sun. The arm band easily falls off and turns dark almost immediately when exposed to the sun (after its been coated with SPF 50). You are far better using good old fashioned common sense when it comes to your childrens time of exposure and apply re-applications yourself as needed and instructed on each lotion or spray bottle.

Poor Monitoring,
This review is from: UVSunSense UV Monitoring Wristbands: 7 Pack (Misc.)
I applied sunblock to the bracelet prior to going outside and when I stepped outside, the bracelet changed colors within 10 minutes. If you burn in 10 minutes, this bracelet is useful. If you have any resistance to the sun at all, then the bracelet is useless!
