This is a great little product. Came exactly as described. Made our 10 year old dishwasher rack look brand new! Only noticed the smell during the application, which dissipated quickly once applied and did not linger. As others have said, you must act quickly and plan your application accordingly as the bottle of liquid vinyl coating dries quickly - almost too quickly.

The directions suggest squeezing the air out of each vinyl cap, then placing two drops of liquid vinyl on the end of the cap, then releasing the air so the liquid vinyl is essentially 'sucked' into the cap. You then place the cap on each tine of the dishwasher. In theory this works fine, but in practice this was hard to do, especially as the liquid vinyl starts getting thick as soon as you open the bottle as it starts drying, itdoes not like to be 'sucked' into the vinyl cap very easily. Thus I found it much easier and just as effective, to brush the liquid vinyl on each tine first, using the supplied applicator, then to squeeze the air out of the vinyl cap and then place it on the tine that had the liquid vinyl on it, then releasing the air as I placed the cap over the tine. I then gave it a slight twist to 'spread' the vinyl glue under the cap to make a better adhesion. This seemed to work far better and was much easier and faster than the method mentioned in the directions. I think I did the entire rack in 45 minutes using this method, while it would have prob been double that using the method described in the directions.

Overall an excellent product and great seller. Buy it!

I only tried this on the bottom rack of the dishwasher to start with. It covered the rust spots well and the caps were good for covering the rusted/worn ends. We have run the dishwasher a few times since applying it and the caps and covering are staying on and we no longer have bits of rust floating around in the water or stuck to the dishes. But we have noticed a sticky residue on some of the dishes and utensils after they are washed. It washes off easily, but it is kind of a nuisance to have to rinse the dishes when we take them out of the dishwasher. I don't know for certain that this residue is from the Uber Goop, but we have not changed soaps or done anything differently, and it has only appeared since I applied the Uber Goop and caps to the bottom rack.

This product saved my dishwasher. I moved into my new home to find the racks in the fairly new dishwasher to have rusty tops and some rusted cross beams. I used a rotary tool to take away the rust and then used the liquid vinyl and the tops to cover. That was 10 weeks ago and it has been great ever since. I highly recommend this as a step before replacing your rack(s).

Our dishwasher racks were starting to rust pretty badly and were leaving rust marks on the dishes. We really didn't want to spend the money on new racks, so we decided to try the Uber Goop White Dishwasher Repair with 130 caps. We were a little hesitant because we read some reviews that said the caps fall off, but we haven't had that problem. The trick seems to be to sand the rusty tips well, and to apply the caps immediately after using the goop, then waiting at least 48 hours to use the dishwasher. That's what we did and over a month later, all caps are still firmly attached; not one has come off! This product is definitely worth the money because it saves money on purchasing a new dish rack. The best part is that the soft rubber tips prevent scratches on your dishes! Wholeheartedly recommend this product.

The kit arrived quickly and worked well. The dishwasher rack looks like it was made that way.

The bottle of white cement drys very quickly so get every thing planed out and prepaired before you open the bottle and start gluing the caps on.

I purchased these in August of '09 and I put them on myself, shortly after they arrived, so they have been on my dishwasher for 6 months and not one has come off.

I read through all of the reviews before I purchased the item and I even printed up a couple of the reviews, that gave me sound application instructions and it not only worked as advertised, but after six months, way beyond my expectations.

I placed them on my bottom rack only, because that is where the damage was happening. I put newspaper on my kitchen table, placed the rack on the paper and one by one, opened the bottle of latex, applied a small amount to a tine, closed the bottle of latex and then squeezed the cap, pushing the air out of the cap and put it on the tine letting go as I pushed down and in about an hour I was done with the entire bottom rack.

I also used some of the latex to touch up side areas and it has stayed on as well and I must say the rack looks great and I use the dishwasher everyday, I own heavy dinnerware and I run a full load.

I would recommend this product to any one who is tired of looking at those rusty, pointy things (Tines) in your dishwasher, I found the price fair and the shipping fast.

This product is easy to use and a good value for your money. The glue does seem to dry out quickly in the bottle while you are using it though. It seems to be working well so far in the dishwasher. Even worked to fix areas that didn't need a cap.

We purchased this product because our dishwasher racks were getting rusty and that rust was starting to transfer to our dishes. Instead of buying new racks, we decided to give this product a try. It was fairly easy to apply (just work fast to keep it from drying). Gluing the caps took a little patience, but in the end it really was worth it. Our racks look virtually brand new and it cost us a fraction of what it would have cost to replace them. We first applied this product over a month and a half ago and all of the caps have stayed on and it still looks great. The only negative thing I would say is that the smell is very strong. It lingered for about a week (through 5 to 6 washes) and made our dishes smell pretty funky. However, the smell has since dissipated. Great fix. Definitely worth a try!

The coating seems to have worked, our racks were very rusty and now look fairly new. Easy to apply, only problem I had was that I had to work really fast, since the stuff dries up so quickly. Otherwise, satisfied I got a little more life out my old dishwasher!
