The Udi's Granola Sampler is quite a hefty load of granola. The 6 16 ounce packages is 33% more than the typical 12oz packages that other brands come in. [UPDATE JUNE 2009: It looks like the package size is now 13oz. This still sells for less than some 12oz products so it's still a good deal. Just not AS good as it was!]. Of course, MORE doesn't mean anything unless it's GOOD. I'm happy to say - it is REALLY good. The amount of nuts, fruits, etc. is a very good ratio and the flavors are all tasty. I wasn't a fan of the Hawaiian because I do not care for macadamia nuts, but my wife liked that one a lot so it worked out well. The value on this is amazing.

One thing to note is the texture. This is all "loose" oats and very cereal like. Some other brands (e.g., Erin Baker's), have clumps of granola in them so you can get some nice size chunks to snack right out of the bag. This is hard to eat as a snack right from the bag, so if that's your m.o. be aware!

A quality product and 5-stars all the way.

All of the varieties in the sampler are excellent. Just the right amount of crunch; good ratio of oats to other ingredients; flavors are all good. Highly recommended.

I love granola and have tried many brands. Udi's is my favorite one. I like all flavors. Eat it with plain yogurt & fresh fruit. My kids will eat it too. I am disappointed that they have changed the size from 16oz to 13oz, hence 4 starts.

My family and I liked this granola. I wish it was a bit chunkier for eating by hand. The flavor was good. I mainly ate it in my yogurt.

My family (11 year old son included) loves these cereals. They are not quite as "heavy" as your typical granola, not too sweet, and the flavors are wonderful. The Amazon price is significantly less that if you purchase at your local supermarket and, although they are still pricier than typical breakfast cereal, I feel better about feeding them to my family.

All of the granolas have been very good and high quality; this is a great sampler.
Definitely try this before buying just one type in bulk; they are all so different everyone should be able to find a favorite but also one they won't like. Don't guess which is your favorite by reading the ingredients: you might be surprised.
I bought this on sale so I'm not sure if they're worth the full price, but I always shop clearance because I look for good value. They're fair at 2-3$ per pound, though.

We really enjoyed this granola. The texture is nice and crunchy and has the right amount of extra goodies, without being too sweet.

Since there were many positive reviews, I thought I'd give it a try to see if I like it as much as I loved Bear Naked.

Quite disappointed with the taste. Its a little sweet and cloying. While I had success in getting my wife hooked onto granola with Bear Naked, she can't eat more than a little of Udi's and leaves the rest of her bowl in disgust - it just tastes a bit too sweet. I'm a little more tolerant in general, but I think in the taste test, Udi loses by a mile.

We're not looking forward to the rest of the sampler pack :( My recommendation to anyone interested in trying this out is to buy a single pack and compare it to Bear Naked.

Also, the size is 13oz and not 16oz as mentioned in another review and my shipment did include the Hawaiian and Bananaberry flavor - didn't find them great as well. The only flavor thats good and not too sweet is the Cranberry flavor. I will not buy this again.

Regarding taste, all flavors were decent but none exceptional. In texture, they fail miserably!

For me, the measure of a good granola is Bear Naked. A granola with nice various size clusters that is easy to eat from the bag. This, as another reviewer so eloquently put it, "is all "loose" oats and very cereal like". The only way to really eat this from the bag is to pour it directly into your mouth. Reaching into the bag with your hand one can only retrieve a small amount 'pinched' between one's fingers. Also, whereas BN has a chewy type texture, the oat flakes here are hard and abrasive and tiny making them very difficult and rather unpleasant to chew.

Additionally, I think they need better quality control. My package included 2 bags of "original" flavor which is supposedly a fruit & nut mix. One bag had a huge amount of nuts and barely any fruit. The other bag had tons of banana chips but very few nuts.

I tried this because of the bargain; 16oz bags at a good price, but I wouldn't buy it again.
