I will continue to buy this product for my child. And after reading about the benefits of probiotics in the journal Pediatrics, I will continue to and may add other strains that have been clinically tested (I don't think these have been yet?) But I have stopped buying this from Amazon due to Udo's website warning that large percentages of the bacteria die when not refrigerated. I know Amazon doesn't ship it cooled, so I'm also assuming they don't store it cooled. And I have no idea how long they store it, which could mean we're getting only a portion of the benefit paid for.

"We can assume a 2%-4% decrease per month if the product has been kept refrigerated, for example 30 billion viable cells at a 2% decrease will contain 23.5 billion viable cells after 12 months. If left at room temperature, for 30 days an encapsulated product will experience a 20%-40% decrease in bacterial count."

I'm sure Amazon will act to correct this, and when they do I'll come back. In the mean time, google the product +cooled or check out iherb.com and others who store and ship it correctly.

This product needs to be refridgerated at all times. It contain's live cultures that will die unless kept cool. It was not shipped with ice.

I ordered this for my ten week old baby who out of the blue became gassy and constipated. I changed my diet and that helped with some of the gas, but not the constipation. She was in a lot of pain from the two issues in spite of every thing we tried. (And we tried gripe water, gas drops, enemas, prune juice (we decided we needed to change pediatricians after that suggestion), water, massage, bath, different ways to carry her, swinging (both in our arms and in a swing when our arms gave out),music, warm compresses and driving her around town). I researched other cures and found out about probiotics and ordered this. I did not realize I was ordering a powder until I got it, but figured I could mix it in some water or breast milk and she would take it. My daughter decided otherwise. I mixed the powder with just enough water to make it a liquid and used a syringe to give it to her and in two days she was a new baby. She no longer cried out in pain, she was soiling her diapers every other day (she would go ten days) and her gas is almost gone. If your baby is suffering like ours, order this stuff, it will change your lives.

These probiotics have been a lifesaver!! My son had terrible ear infections requiring multiple rounds of antibiotics, which can cause diaper rash and sometimes thrush. This product helps put the "good bugs" back in their belly! Within 24 hours of starting the probiotics my son's diapers returned to normal. No more "medicine poo" or fear of thrush harming our breastfeeding career.

I ordered this product for my twin daughters to help with their digestive systems. They were both reflux girls when they were infants, and with this product, have been wonderfully regular and have had very little illness. Udo's is the best choice if you are looking for a great combination of the different cultures. The price is right and the shipping is acceptabe according to the manufacturer. I asked Amazon about the storage of this product and they assure me that it can be non-refrigerated for up to 30 days, to allow for shipping, etc. so you should be receiving your product in good condition!!

My son had 8 ear infections by the age of 13 months. The only treatment doctors offered were antibiotics, lots of them. They also suggested putting ear tubes but I didn't feel like doing that before exploring other remedies. I read that probiotics could help with an ear infection problem and purchased Udo's choice infant probiotics. Since I started to give them to my son on a daily basis, he never had another ear infection. He is now almost 2,5 and ear infection free.

I wish I found this product before!! Ever since switching to formula at 7 months of age, my son has had constant gas problems. Sometimes he would wake up screaming 6-8 times a night. We tried 5 different brands of formula -- but all of them had the same issue. After 3 months of trying different things, I almost gave up, thinking this will be the norm until he grows out of this stage.

After a relative's recommendation, I tried this probiotic (bought it at local Whole Foods). We give it to him mixed in with formula right before bedtime and for 3 nights in a row (knock on wood) he has been up only ONCE! to eat and immediately go back to sleep. In the morning he wakes up refreshed and in a good mood.

If this sort of behavior continues, this probiotic will be worth its weight in gold to us!

I looked up the Udo's site, because I'm interested in the product, but am wary about the un-refrigeration. Most strains need to be kept cool for efficacy. Here's a quote from Udo's:

"Refrigeration ensures maximum potency and stability, however Udo's Choice Probiotics can be left unrefrigerated for short periods of time, making them convenient for travel. All Udo's Choice Probiotics may be frozen to further extend shelf life."

3 stars because you have to give stars for a review. Hope this helps others. But...I'm still wary about how long the seller may be leaving these on a 'warm' shelf.

My 2-year old has always suffered from eczema. And despite much reading, I was overwhelmed and confused by the condition, causes, and treatment. It finally sunk in that he would benefit from a probiotic, so I did some research and found Udo's, which doesn't contain dairy. I was never sure if dairy was causing any eczema flare-ups, but anyway, his skin is much more clear with this product. I put 1/2 tsp in his juice every morning.

I'm on the second jar and will continue to purchase this probiotic.

My tot occasionally has constipation, I put this in her morning drink and it helps achieve some 'action' later in the day. I also use it when she has diarrhea to firm things up! It's very easy to use since there is no taste.
