4.0 out of 5 stars ugly is to the bone!!!!, March 4, 2005
This review is from: Ugly (Audio CD)
there are plenty of reviews for "why play around?" here on amazon ,an album that i've never heard & may never hear if i can't find it cheaper."ugly" was my introduction to this slammin'trio about half my life ago.i must have read about it in a magazine or somthing .i remember none of my friend could get into it .although they could'nt deny the music was top knotch,in your face, cutting edge, thrash festacular!!...they could'nt get past bob mayos' stale & often tright vocals.i guess i can't say anything i'm still trying to like cynic.anyway i recently ordered "ugly" cause i know it'll never be reissued & tapes don't last.in my opinion,a must have for anyone who likes thrash & thinks they've heard the best.these guys were born to roll.the music more than makes up for bobs' vocal short comings & when you hear how he rocks the bass you'll see why he's the frontman. don't delay buy today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WARGASM in general, November 26, 2007
This review is from: Ugly (Audio CD)
A great band with bad timing. If they only came about 10 years earlier, we wouldnt be talking about Metallica. I have 3 copies of Why Play Around. I wouldnt sell them for $500.00 a piece! Get anything you can from this band on CD. Do it fast. There is no more. One of the greatest thrash trios of all time. I use Wargasm, instead of gasoline to power my car. I get 60 miles per gallon with Wargasm. I have two speeding tickets on my record because I was listening to them on my car stereo. Listening to Wargasm is like firing a 44 magnum with Corbon ammo

5.0 out of 5 stars BOY IZ U UGLY, August 27, 2005
By facekicker (brockton ma.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ugly (Audio CD)
a fine follow up to WPA! the time between albums was to long (not because of them)for the mighty gasm to go world wide. grunge had all but taken over and anyone that had not caught on to wargasm (ex the faithful) had no interest in there 2nd album and its too bad for them because ugly was well worth the wait the time between albums really show for the better the production (not that wpa slacked, it was far and above better production wise than alot of the major label release's back then)was near perfect but really showed how tight these guys play (i cant stress this enough) all the songs are killer!! plus they did a video for dreadnaught day! and i do have a copy of it! and im not giving it up. if you liked wpa pick up a copy of ugly you WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED
