Amazing Detail,

In the interests of full disclosure, Ken is a friend of mine. So, I am, of course, proud and all that one would expect of a friend. However, I was more than suprised when I opened the book to find how amazing a poet he is.
I'll doctor my review with examples and details later, but suffice to say I'm not a big fan of poetry, but I have been captivated here. Ken's poetry manages to grab minute details and marry them to ideas and feelings with a casual flair that I believe marks a true craftsman. Apparently others feel the same way because Ken's poetry was featured on "The Writers Almanac" on NPR in 2009. Also, a dry, engaging wit full of sparkle and subtle melancholy is here. Read it, and enjoy. |
