Ranging from haunting ballads to lively dance tunes, this collection of traditional Ukrainian folk music is flawlessly performed by master musicians steeped in the Ukrainian tradition. The livelier tunes have powerful percussion and strong bass lines, giving them an almost rock-and-roll intensity while the softer songs are performed with such feeling and melancholy that they will surely mentally transport you the days of olde Ukraine. You may even get the feeling from these sometimes strangely familiar gems that you just might be a reincarnated soul from the days of yore in that region of the world! If you are a fan of traditional folk music with Eastern-European-Balkan-Russian flavours or even a fan of folk-rock you can't go wrong with this.
