I am hosting a Ukrainian exchange student and have found that this book is pretty good at interpreting what I want to say. There are no phonetics, so unless you know Ukrainian (which I do not), you need to point out the translation and let them comprehend. The dictionary is "missing" a lot of words you may find helpful, but it is much better than nothing and the price is certainly in the right spot. So, I would reccommend it to most people.
