The Ultimate guitar stand?,

Are you tired of cranky, clunky guitar stands that pinch your fingers, lose their important parts and don't fit your streamlined packing system. I know I was. My buddy Fran from Maine (a great blues singer too) showed me this little bugger that weighs little, locks and unlocks with a twist of the wrist, packs up into a tiny thing that fits right in my pedal/cord bag, and easily (and ultimately) supports a guitar or bass with rubber arms and a single rubber nub low at the back of the instrument. You can't just throw your axe at this stand, you do have to set it in there straight. But my bass has never fallen over, the stand is nearly invisible behind your guitar and it's just so darn easy to use and carry. L'Ultimo!

I bought two of these stands after seeing our bass player with one. It is all in one piece, so there is no need to connect three different pieces together each time you want to set up. It collapses into a very compact bundle, taking up much less space than a standard stand. Because it has a lower back than most stands, you have to take a little extra care to make sure the guitar is seated correctly in the stand when you place it in there. On the first night I used it, one guitar slipped sideways against the wall because it wasn't seated properly. But after realizing it was just a placement issue, I have had no problems with the stand. The stand itself is very solid, with a locking tripod so it stays in place. It's a great time and space-saver!

4 stars for how compact it is, my only beef is that the bass tilts back way too far when on the stand. That's ok when there's a lot of room, but in tight spaces I can't use it and instead lean the bass on the amp.Still, the ability to shove it in the backpack wins, so I use it and give 4 stars.
