I am 5'7" about 165lbs...

This product is NOT designed for people my size. The thigh strap has to be tightened to such an extreme to fit my leg, and without some home modification and using the belt loop provided, it hangs to my knee. I believe I could let out the thigh strap and fit it around my waist.

-Apparently it was made for people who are 6'11" and weigh in around 295lbs.

Also, with a loaded 1911 it wobbles alot when when walking (the wobble is terrible when moving at any type of speed) and does not sit snug to the leg.

Overall poor design. Belt loop should be an adjustable strap rather than velcro. For the thighs, there should be two straps rather than one. And the holster itself should be better attached to thigh rig

well made strudy material is convertable to a belt style
a little hard to switch but with practice not bad takes about a
minute to go from a drop rig to a belt rig holster is large on
a 1911 unless you have a rail mount light then it is a good fit

I ordered both the left handed and right handed tactical drop leg Colt 1911 holsters. Although the descriptions for both were exactly the same, the left handed holster was not the same as the right handed. The left holster itself was half an inch shorter in length and about a half inch wider and was not sewn "shut" as far up where the grips stick out of the holster body.

Actually neither holster was a good fit for my bone stock 1911, the right hand one was simply marginally better then the left. In both cases the 1911 sinks into the holster and practically disappears. The retention strap would only be needed if one were to hang upside down. I had to pull the retention strap to it's tightest setting to have it actually do anything. Fishing my pistols out of either holster is slow and sloppy.

That being said, tactical holsters are not strictly speaking built for speed. The rest of the straps, belts, velcro and hardware were all well constructed and solid. For the price I would be hard pressed to find a better set of holsters. I will probably just add a rivet or two to each holster to keep the pistol from sinking too far and call it a day.

I have wanted one of these for years. I don't know if I will ever use it, but it it was a great price and now I have it. The materials are soft, and it fits pretty loose. Lots of room for the tactical rail attachments. All the parts disassemble, so I can use the holster alone, or any part of it with my other holsters. Glad I bought it.
