I got this game in 2004 when it first came out. It has a diversity of games including:
Anagrams Concentration 3-D Tic Tac Toe Mancala Chess Checkers Backgammon Chinese Checkers Dominoes Parcheesi Reversi Go Quatro (Connect Four) Enigma (Mastermind) Dice (Yahtzee) Naval Battle (Battleship) Snakes & Ladders Word Cubes Mahjong Jigsaw Puzzles There's definitely variety here. You can play against the computer, which can be set for easy, medium or hard, or you can play with up to five humans, which requires passing the controller around. A few games, like Mahjong, allow for solitaire play. All games have options for you to customize how they are played. Rules for all games are shown on screen. There are a dozen backgounnd settings you can choose, like a tranquil garden, a cozy fire or a private den. You can also set the mood by having classical, pop or rock music playing as well. You can save your scores and view your high scores in the "trophy room." Of course, you need a memory card to do this. Unlike some other reviewers, my blue disc copy of this game gave me no trouble at all loading into my PS2. This is a good game for the family to play together. A nice variety of games, most of which are easy to learn and fun to play.

Has some pretty good games, you can play with the cpu or with 2 players. Pretty good and it does work with my new ps2 silver. I was hesitant to buy it because of the other reviews, but gave it a shot, my new ps2 silver doesn't have a problem playing this disc.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Ultimate Board Game Collection (Video Game)
I was so excited when I received this game because I remember playing all of these as a kid. However, when I began to play the games I was very disappointed... First of all it took forever for the disc to load up and when it finally did the games were not very user friendly. My favorite game (chinese checkers) which is why I purchased this game in the first place, was very difficult to play. The curser light keeps flashing but you have no control over how many times you move your piece, and when you finally get your piece to move it moves once and then the other players play so fast your completely lost! My second favorite game is mancala which was an absolute mess! The pieces move around the board so fast you have no idea what is going on! Also, the music is terrible, I actually had to shut it off because it was annoying. After being irritated that I could not enjoy either of my favorite games, I played quatro and enigma a couple of times then got bored. I was expecting this game to be like "hoyle board games" (for pc not ps2) which is AMAZING!!!!! Graphics, user friendly great music, this is NOTING like that :-( If it did not cost more in shipping then the actual game I would return it. Now it will just sit in the box and collect dust. Don't waste your money, your better off going to "toys r us" and purchasing the actual board game, in my opinion.
