1.0 out of 5 stars Ooh! What a waste!
I checked this book out at the library. It's okay if you're six to eleven years old, but it won't do any good for anyone older than that.

Did you know Jamie-Lee Curtis or Madonna were cheerleaders? This book is awesome! I highly reccomend it to all cheerleaders!

This review is from: Ultimate Cheerleading (Paperback)
This is an overall GREAT instructional books. A first-year cheerleader myself, reading this book was very helpful in preparing me for tryouts. And it proved its worthiness when I was picked for the squad! If you're a young girl (or boy) who is looking for a great time and opportunity to meet new people in cheerleading, this is the book for you!

This is an wonderful book if you just made a squad or want to join a squad. Anyone that has been on a squad will think that this book is useless. But if you are starting out, it has great pictures that show you how to strech, jump, stunt and more. Plus it list cheers, phone numbers organizations, camps, and a little bit on the history of cheerleading. A must have for any one that wants to be a cheerleader.

4.0 out of 5 stars good color and pictures, but not enough details, November 28, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Ultimate Cheerleading (Paperback)
The book was very well done, organized and colorful. It had good information but I didn't feel that there was enough. This book also points out all of the wonderful sides to cheerleading, but it leaves out the hard and stressful parts of it too. You can't enter cheerleading without knowing the hardships one may endure. I was looking for more detailed information, but I would definitely suggest this book for some starting out or is just interested in cheerleading.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for elementary school cheerleaders., April 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ultimate Cheerleading (Paperback)
This book was pretty good. I guess I was expecting too much of it, but I thought that it wasn't very helpful. There was lots of information, but only on a few topics of cheerleading. I really liked the section of pictures of famous people who used to be cheerleaders. I just thought the book would be well-suited for elementary school kids, not people really serious about trying out for a good high school or all-star squad. I think the book should also have included more challenging and /or advanced techniques of cheerleading and gymnastics.

This book is fantastic for beginning and intermediate cheerleaders. The only bad thing was that it didn't have advanced enough stunts

3.0 out of 5 stars It was O.K., February 9, 2003
By
StarGymnast (California, USA) - See all my reviews
I found this book at my local public library. Since I do cheerleading, I thought it would be a valuable resource, and it sort of was. It was a little too short, and I knew most of the moves and stunts in here anyway. It did have color photos and stuff, but it was only about fifty-eight pages. I wish it was longer. I guess it's mostly for beginners or people who want to learn about cheerleading or are thinking of trying out, because there is a section about it in here. I would recommend this book to beginning cheerleaders or for people who want to find out more about this cheerleading.
