If you wonder why you need one more album of traditional Christmas music, consider the performers. Pavarotti - Sutherland - Price, Te Kanawa , all giving a magical rendering of our favorites since childhood. The various orchestras , from the National Philamonic to the Vienna to the New Philaharmonia, as well as the choirs, are the perfect complement. This CD instantly became my favorite when I bought it last year. I have given and will continue to give it as a gift. You'll be transported to Christmases past when you hear "O Holy Night," "Adeste Fideles" and "Winter Wonderland."

I probably own too many Christmas CDs, which contain a great deal of duplication. Many of them, though good, are indistinguishable from one another. But 'The Ultimate Christmas Album', a compilation of holiday recordings culled from London's vaults, has set itself apart. It has been my most-played Christmas CD for several years now.

The recordings are unparalleled; the Bach Choir's vigorous "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing" (complete with thunderous pipe organ), Pavarotti's tender "Ave Maria" and "O Holy Night", Leontyne Price's spritely "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and wistful "Silent Night", the crystaline children's voices in the Choir of Trinity School's reading of "The First Nowell"--every selection on this CD could stand alone as a highlight.

For those of you who prefer your Christmas music with a classical bent, this is the CD you've been looking for. The selections are brilliantly chosen, recorded and programmed. I cannot recommend this any more-strongly. It is perfect. For once, you can believe the hype--this IS the ultimate Christmas album.

A truly great selection of fantastic vocal performances. Acceptably if not flawlessly mastered, well selected and giving a continuous, passionate interpretation of classic holiday music. I am truly enjoying it and recommend it to you.

This album has no incase booklet, but music is excellent.
I really enjoyed all famous Christmas songs performed by various vocals.
