Last year, my oldies station CBS-FM didn't put out a holiday collection, issuing a Millenium Collection instead. Well, once I bought this, Vol. 5 of the Ultimate Christmas Album series, I realized it was worth the wait! As in the previous Volumes 1-4, this has something for everyone. Starting with one of the best rock/pop Christmas tunes, Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney & Wings, it also includes a few hard to find gems, such as Jingle Bell Rock by Hall & Oates, Blue Holiday by The Shirelles, Little Drummer Boy by The Tokens & Christmas Delight by The Four Tops. Most of the other songs here can be found on other holiday collections, but it's nice to have them here all on one CD. Whether you listen to Christmas music while decorating your home, baking holiday goodies or wrapping presents, this Vol. 5 Ultimate Christmas Album is just right for your enjoyment! Highly recommended for all lovers of Christmas music.

Volume V of this Ultimate series proves it still has some steam. Another 25 hits. My favorites among them are:
Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney Little Drummer Boy - The Tokens Christmas Time is Here - Vince Guaraldi Trio Blue Holiday - The Shirelles There's No Xmas Like a Home Xmas - Perry Como If Every Day Was Like Xmas - Elvis Presley Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - Jackson Five A Marshmallow World - Dean Martin Paul's Wonderful Christmastime gets the disc off to a rocking start. Vince Guaraldi's Christmas Time is from the Charlie Brown Christmas special. The Shirelles' Blue Holiday and Dean's Marshmallow World are hard to find. The others are favorites of mine. The Beach Boys, Andy Williams, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Pointer Sisters, Gladys & The Pips, Harry Belafonte and Barry Manilow are featured too. A great CD in the continuing series of Ultimate Christmas CDs. Something to please everybody. This brings a total of 125 songs to the series and over five plus hours of holiday musical bliss |
