This book was a gift for my husband who plays guitar and sings with a group of young adults every day at work. It has a great selection of Christmas songs with lyrics and tabs included for each song. Has a comb binding, so it lays open nice and flat with no struggle. He did mention that, at least for some of the songs, the guitar chords are pretty simple....but better too easy than too hard I guess, since a more experienced player can always add on to what's written!

This is a good book for the beginning guitarist who wants to accompany Christmas carols. The content is truly impressive in the number of songs included furthermore the plastic comb binding causes the book to stay open on a music stand.

Now for the somewhat bad news. Each of carol or song included is a VERY simplified versions. Furthermore, the only thing printed completely is the simplified melody line in standard music notation for each piece . The accompanying guitar chords are shown above the scale but there is no guitar tab listed. The publisher has included a suggested accompaniment box at the top for each song. This does include the first line's regular staff with a more detailed guitar tab line below that. This is helpful but only the first line (either three or four measures) is included. I would liked to have seen this style continued for all lines of each carol. This is the primary reason that rated this book 4 stars.

All in all I would still recommend this book for any beginners that would like to be able play a number of Christmas songs fairly quickly.

I teach guitar to people of all ages and there were songs that worked for many different ability levels. Any Christmas song you can think of, it's in here.

This book offers so many fun songs. They are all fairly easy and come with chords as well as notes. This book also offers ALL the classics like Frosty The Snowman and All I want For Christmas is my Two Front Teeth. I was very happy to have ordered this book.

This is a great book. But it doesn't have a plastic comb binding like Amazon says it does in the title description. It is just a normal music book binding. I was actually quite disappointed about that because I picked this book specifically for use on my music stand. If it had the plastic comb it would lay flat on the stand. Well, Amazon must have shipped me the wrong item or they described the book incorrectly. I was too lazy to mess with returning because I did like the content inside the book. The music selection is great!

When I purchased this book I had my doubts whether it would be of any use to me since I'm a very novice guitarist and I can't sing. My doubts were quickly put to rest. There are songs at all skill levels and all include chord diagrams. In addition, some include tabs. All have the melody stanzas, too, so you can just play the melody on guitar or any other instrument, provided you can read music. The book contains an excellent selection of songs, from traditional carols to contemporary holiday songs. In three weeks time I have learned five songs that I would be comfortable playing in front of a live audience (I practice on my stuffed rabbit and bear- both very forgiving creatures!). By Christmas I will probably be able to adequately play a dozen selections. While learning them, I'm getting into the holiday spirit!

Very reasonable price for what you're getting. Music was laid out for easy read and play. Good for the beginning and intermediate level player. Not too challenging, but hey, they're Christmas songs... really neat for small groups of play alongs and having fun.
