When I purchased this album I had only heard one DC Talk hit "In The Light". And as I am against piracy especially regarding Christian Artists and Christian Music (as it can be likened to stealing from God), I purchased this album because it had the most songs compared to DC Talk's other albums, ie., 24 songs.
After listening to the album I can honestly say I don't for one moment regret this purchase. Their lyrics were fresh and their sound unique. It's hard to say these guys ever stuck to one genre but rather looked to constantly push the limits of music. Each of their voices is clear and unique. Toby's raps and emotive vocals, Kevin Max with his powerful and poignant voice along with Michael Tait's soothing and smoky rhythm is a great combination. The best song would have to be "In The Light" closely followed by "Jesus Freak". Other topically and musically beautiful songs include "What If I Stumble" (which speaks about Christians falling short and looking for hope), the post rapture song "I Wish We'd All Been Ready", "Supernatural" with it's bass riff and vocal whispers, "Consume Me" which talks about God and how He makes us feel and is written directly to God, "My Will" speaks about our will (or what ought to be our will) for God to work in our lives, "Luv Is A Verb" is refreshingly old school hip-hop with a eye opening message of what love really is, "That Kinda Girl" talks about the type of girl every guy should look for (or wait for) matching with the scriptures, "Jesus Is Just Alright With Me" is a remix by DC Talk of the Doobie Brothers' 1972 hit song by the same name and is one of those songs that can make anybody groove for the right cause (the joy of knowing God's love), "Like It, Love It, Need It" is kind of punk-rock in style and is one of those songs that talks about why it's great to be a child of God, and finally "Into Jesus" that can stir anyone's heart to simply want to shout out that "Hey You! I'm into Jesus!". All their lyrics are honest and soothing for the soul indefinitely. You might like other songs too as I can't name one bad song. The above are simply my favorites. This album will definitely stand the test of time. With timeless lyrics and equally matching music, every song sounds different and can be said to truly set the benchmark of what Christian music ought to be. Exceptional in Music and inspiring in Lyrics. Merited by quality alone. This album is a must have for those who don't own the original DC Talk albums and want a collection of their Greatest Hits as well as any Christian musician and/or music lover in general.

I was browsing through a few of their songs on youtube and fell in love. This cd is a great collection for fans that don't want to try deciding which of their many cds to get. I love this group! dcTalk is extremely underrated and I am shocked that I had not heard more of their songs before.

DC Talk, the Ultimate Collection is one of my favorite albums. This is one of the top Christian bands in history. This group transcends age barriers; meaning they are enjoyed by young and old alike. Their music is tight and their theology is solid. I recommend it to you and your parents

Great compilation of songs. Love the remakes of old songs. A high recommendation for DC Talk fans or future fans who want an overview of what their music is like.

If you love Tobymac or DC Talk pick this one up! Tobymac sounds so different or maybe just younger especially when compared to Tobymac's solo albums. To be straightforward and honest, many people could agree that this was the best Christian music band there ever was and that Tobymac sounded the best here. Anyways...back to the album itself. This album is loaded with every hit song (at least that I know of) that they did including "In the Light" and of course "Jesus Freak." Would it be a dctalk album without the latter one I just mentioned? DC talk, I will say, did write some truly thought provoking songs. I like Tobymac, but after hearing this album, it really gives me a glimpse of what was the greatest group of Christian musicians of the most recent to current generation. They really knew how to write good songs. Even though they probably will never come back together, I wish they would. This is a great album. You can still see and hear traces of former dcTalk members as Michael Tait is with the Newsboys, Kevin Max has his own solo albums and of course Tobymac has his.
