Vintage Delbert, a must for any McClinton fan!,

The Ultimate Collection is just that, the Ultimate Delbert Collection. It provides a great cross section of Delbert's wide ranging style. From the funky blues of "B Movie" through the country twang of "Two More Bottles of Wine" ending up in the jazz/pop feel of "Shot from the Saddle, Delbert defies catagorization. Enjoy!

DELBERT MCCLINTON-ULTIMATE COLLECTION: Delbert McClinton has seen it, done it, and sung it all...he played harmonica on the early 60's Bruce Channel white soul classic HEY BABY, saw his earthy compositions covered by everyone from Emmylou Harris (TWO MORE BOTTLES OF WINE) to the Blues Brothers (B-MOVIE BOX CAR BLUES) to Vince Gill (VICTIM OF LIFE'S CIRCUMSTANCES), scored his own funky Top 40 hit GIVIN' IT UP FOR YOUR LOVE, and won a Grammy for a duet with Bonnie Raitt. The Lubbock, Texas belter of all things rock, RNB, and country has deservedly been given the "Ultimate" package treatment by retro-specialists HIP-O. Here are eighteen tasty as BAR-B-Q tracks of honky tonk sweat shouted out in the world weary rasp of a thousand smoke filled roadhouses. McClinton certainly has endured for years now with his Tex boogie, rock blues! This established songwriter, harmonica player supreme, and talented guitarist as well as vocalist has established quite a lengthy reporitoire of good stuff, collected here for all fans. Recalled seeing him on I-Man in the morning, and wanted to obtain some of his better stuff, and am satisfied that this CD is just such.' Especially enjoy Giving It Up, B-Movie Boxcar Blues (great harmonica licks) and I'm Dyin' As Fast As I can.
