Isaac Hayes encompasses just about everything from funk to classic rock, rhythm & blues to classical through his unparalleled "God given talent" that has no boundaries. No other artist can surpass the emotion that runs the gambit displaying fantastic musical arrangements with his unmistakable delivery. Can't think of any other figure that has had more influence over the music during the '60s and '70s, laying ground work for the disco craze and the evolution of rap.
For the listener, I have one thing to say - "Just sit back in your favorite easy-chair and enjoy this truly great songwriter/artist at his "Ultimate" best. This album has it all, from "SHAFT" (1971) - "WALK ON BY" (1969) - "NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE" (1971) - "DON'T LET ME BE LONELY TONIGHT" (1978) and the list could go on and on.
