There's a BIG difference between Kid Creole & Dr Buzzard....,
By C. Murgatroyd, Esq. "The Walking Encyclopaedi... (Brindisi Bay) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
At this writing, only one other person had reviewed this set and he/she/it is obviously oblivious to August Darnell and his musings. This set is as close to a Kid Creole box set as you're going to get and it is very special indeed. (Despite the "box set" designation set by one of amazon's vendors, it's really just a double disc with a bonus disc of rarities...the common characteristic of all titles in the Dutch Universal Ultimate Collection series) The tracks are all 32bit mastered for optimum sound quality and the set offers a good overview of the Kid's years recording for Island/Ze Records. The bonus disc offers the 12" mixes of "Dear Addy" and "Table Manners", plus the song Prince wrote for the Kid, "The Sex Of It", the duo with Barely Manatall "Hey Mambo" and for history's sake, two key Dr Buzzard tracks. If you want those, go get em on another CD. But don't degrade this great group with shallow unfounded tripe. FIVE STARS ALL ROUND!!!

do the original,
This review is from: Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
this album was ok but my suggestion is to get Dr. Buzzard & the original Savannah Band if you want the best of this type of music - Kid Creole and the Coconuts was birthed from Dr. Buzzard so why not get the original
