For ages, I've put off getting the second soundtrack to Dirty Dancing, purely because most of the good tracks on the original. And then with the Ultimate Dirty Dancing DVD, PACKED with extras, they go and release this. Well, obviously, a big Dirty Dancing fan is going to get both. We're not stupid - well, maybe. But this is a must-have for any Dirty Dancing fan.

This has all the tracks on one CD, better than switching back and forth between CDs just to hear a particular track. They are all on one CD now, and in the order they appeared in the movie. Well, according to some reviews, they may not be, but who cares?

Some of the best tracks are on this CD, from "Hungry Eyes" to "Love Is Strange" to "She's Like The Wind" (who says actors can't sing?) and of course, who could forget, the song that practically made this movie - "I've Had The Time Of My Life".

You will not regret getting this album. It's a collector's item, along with the DVD, has some great behind the scenes photos in the insert.

It's incredible that almost 20 years after its release, this album is still strong that RCA released this new and enhanced edition.
I remember being 7 years old or so when I bought the original soundtrack and it was a major hit. I knew all the lyrics and used to play it endless times (it was a cassette at that time). The success of the movie and soundtrack were incredible and the most amazing thing is that the movie took place in the early 60's and you can find songs from the 80's with that particular style that the songs from the 80's have and you won't even mind about that difference of sound and style. Among the new songs for this soundtrack. You can find the #1 hit "I'VE HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE" and "HUNGRY EYES" a song performed by Eric Carmen. The song was the second greatest hit of this production, peaking at #4 on Billboard's Hot 100. Actor Patrick Swayze recorded "SHE'S LIKE THE WIND" a song that also became a hit. The album was a big hit with sales exceding the 20 million copies, a Grammy award and an Oscar.
This new production is very special because it contains 26 songs (the original only has 12) including the Kellerman's anthem and with this you have all the songs that appear in the movie sequenced in the order that they appear in the film. The only song missing is a song (I don't know the its name) that Lisa, Baby's sister sings during a rehearsal. The other difference that this edition has is that the theme song "I'VE HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE", is added in its original edition, not the radio edit version as the original soundtrack.
This cd is worth it even tough you have the original.

This is the ONLY Dirty Dancing CD that has all the songs from the hit movie. An added bonus is they are sequenced in the order that they appear in the film. So if you are a big fan of the movie, just listening to the music you can remember each scene. In all there are 26 wonderful tracks. Great edition to any Dirty Dancing collection and a must have to go with the new Ultimate Edition DVD. The version I have is the 'Hyper CD' which has some extra features that are accessed with your computer's DVD player.

Finally they have released this soundtrack all on one CD! They have claimed that all of the songs are in order to which they appear in the movie- when really, if you watch the movie while following the list, you will notice that #6 "The Time of My Life (Instrumental Version)" should really be #4 because they are playing that song when Baby leaves her cabin and she sees Johnny for the first time with the rest of the management, which is right after she is dancing to the "Merengue".

But other than that it is pretty well in order. There are a few of the same songs that come up in movie more than once, so I don't expect them to have the same song numerous times in there just because it's in the movie more than once.

One really nice thing - they have the full original version of the song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" which they didn't have in the original soundtrack.

Regardless of that error on the order of songs, I still give this soundtrack 5 stars because it is still deffinetly worth owning! This IS one of the best soundtracks of all-time!

This is one of the best soundtracks ever!!! There's just something about the music in Dirty Dancing, especially "Love Is Strange" (remember the part of the movie where Johnny and Baby were in the studio and that snakey guy walks in on them). The music is so timeless. I swear, when I hear a song from that movie, I have no problem picturing the scene it came from; the song/scene relationships of the movie were so perfect!!! This is a definite must-have for everyone!!!

I love the movie and now I love this CD. The songs are in the same order as in the movie so I can remember the movie when I can't watch it. Some of the songs are different versions than in the movie which is why I gave it a 4 instead of 5 but overall it is very good. I played it while on the treadmill and got a great workout!

I loved this movie the moment I first saw it and I loved the soundtrack even more. The great thing about this CD is it has every last song on it, from beginning to end. Including Kellermans anthem and the instermental part of "I've had the time of my life".

I purchased this album in 2005, lost it in Hurricane Katrina, but I loved it so much that I want to buy it again. If you enjoyed Dirty Dancing and are a fan of what I like to call "new-age oldies" from the 60's and 70's, I encourage you to buy this collection. These are timeless classics you can dance and daydream to.. Your feet are gonna move and your mind is gonna flutter! This is essential to a collection of related genres. Generations to come are going to watch and love Dirty Dancing.. I don't think the film, or the music that gave it such heat, is ever going to sizzle out.

What can I say??? This version of Dirty Dancing soundtrack is the bomb!!! It plays all tracks that in order that it was heard in the movie. The songs are crystal clear. It is great because it has a wide veriety of song styles that is pleasing to the ear. Base is low and strong, while the highs are crisp and clear without distortion. The liner notes are interesting that goes into great detail about the movie. It also holds clear vibrant color of different scens in the movie. It talks about Eric Carmen's Hungry Eyes which hit #4 on the charts and became one of the soundtrack's most popular tracks. This version combines both Dirty Dancing soundtrack and the second, More Dirty Dancing. For those who love the movie this is a MUST buy, because this soundtrack kicks major 'bootay'!!!!!!

As a young girl I owned the original cassette version of the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack. And was looking to replace it with a cd. I chose the Ultimate Edition because all the music from the movie was included, and in the order they were played in the movie. I bought this along with preordered Dirty Dancing Limited Keepsake Edition [Blu-ray] which will be released in May. This cd is great, and will have you wanting to watch the movie all over again!
