I've been a big fan of Dr. Marty Becker and Gina Spadafori for a long time. They are committed to improving the connection between people and pets. If you love dogs, this is a must-read! I give it 5 paws up!

This wonderful book is a collection of articles on dogs - fun stories about dogs, loving stories about dogs, stories about helpful dogs, and also many articles full of helpful hints on what to do for that best friend of yours that will stick with you through thick and thin. And along the way, the reader is treated to many beautiful color pictures of dogs.

This is a great book, a great gift idea that is sure to please the dog lover in your life...especially if it's you. I really enjoyed this wonderful book and don't hesitate to recommend it.

I'm not normally a fan of books of tips and short stories. You'd think they'd work well for someone with my short attention span, but usually I flip through and put the book away forever.

That didn't happen with "The Ultimate Dog Lover," because this book has heart. Tons of it. While it's full of good advice, the single word that describes it is, as other reviews here have demonstrated, "heartwarming." Which means it will make you happy (even if it also makes you cry).

Yes, as others have said, this is a great gift book. But it's one you might want to give yourself, too.

Wow! Sums up this book. Working in the Veterinary field for many years, I have seen many books about pets, pet care, and pet photos. To have one that combines all three that is catchy and appealing, yet chock full of great information and stories is wonderful! Kudos on yet another great book definately worth adding to your collection!

After reading The Ultimate Dog Lover I ran outside to hug my dog, Rockey. Sometimes I forget just how special a dog's companionship can be. Reading these truly heartwarming stories just validates all I have felt for the many dogs I have had over the years. I love the addition of the great photos and clever captions. This book is a must read for any dog lover and would make a wonderful gift!

Seriously, this book really touched my heart. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who thinks dogs are people too.

This should be a "must read" for any pet owner.

The Ultimate Dog Lover is a treasure of stories, advice and photographs for anyone who loves dogs. It is a book to savor and to read a couple stories at a time, as each is memorable.

One story, "Call of the Wild," was so unbelievably amazing that it stretches what I consider credible--but I do believe it to be true. (It involves a pack of wolves...)

One warning however: do not read this in public unless you don't mind having others' watch you weep! I read several chapters at Barnes + Noble and gave up, as I kept wiping tears away. Most of the tears are not because the stories are necessarily sad (although some are)they are just emotional and very touching stores. For those of us who love dogs, this book touches the soul.

The photographs are wonderful.

The final section of the book is called Must know information and contains useful information for dog owners.

Give this book to yourself and other dog lovers.

Hey - I wrote a story included in this book - it really is awesome (the book... and my story)- I actually teared up a couple of times while reading it (the book, not my story) - even bought a few copies for friends, which looking at the sales ranking here, prolly accounted for a doubling of sales. Woohoo!

I would have bought the book for the full page color photos alone. But no one should miss the must-know information from health to behavior that is packed inside. Not only is this book jam packed with wit, warmth and wisdom, the writing style makes it an easy, fun read.

As the human-animal bond becomes ever more important in our lives, The Ultimate Dog Lover is a must read. Winter is approaching, cook up some hot cocoa, wrap yourself in a blanket, curl up by the fire and enjoy this read!
