5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome classic!, July 6, 2008

My brother and I used to spend hours and hours playing this game years ago...on a floppy disk and an old apple. When I found it for windows, I had to buy it for my brother for christmas. It's like a pre-rp. You have a lot and try to take care of the people that live on your lot, making them farmers, carpenters, farming food and cutting down trees. It's turn by turn, but timed. It's easy to understand as the first time we played the game we didn't have the instructions...and we pretty much figured it all out. I do suggest instructions, however. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars A great game from 1994., December 8, 2007

It's an old turn-based colonize and conquer game but it's great for it's time. The graphics and game-play are nice. The AI isn't very good. There are only 3 players and 5 maps. You can't play over a network. Still, it's a must-have game for strategy game fans who have a vintage computer to play this on. The CD version has some new features and upgrades over the floppy disk version.

This game is always enjoyable for me. If you love to build up communities and strive for the pinnacle of efficiency, you'll get many hours out of this. Additionally, the game is made more interesting by the fact that you're hampered not only by the ravages of nature, but by two (human and/or computer) enemies as well who are bent on your destruction.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lost Gem, March 17, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Ultimate Domain (CD-ROM)
Ultimate Domain (or Genesia in the European market) is another great strategy/simulation from Microids. For it's time, the graphis are pretty nice with good texture depth and animation. The sounds pull you into the atmosphere of the game, and the voice acting is pretty well done. Gameplay has a slight learning curve, but after a couple of hours, you tend to get the hang of it thanks to the intuity of the menu systems. For anyone who likes a challenge, the AI leaves a little to be desired, but I promise you that this is one of those lost gems that are overlooked and forgotten about. I remember playing this game on my 486, and unfortunately, this game has taken hours upon hours of my early life away from me. I was thrilled to find an original copy of this game as it is probably my all-time favorite of that era. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!
