I've had these earbuds for a week and I can say that they met and slightly exceeded my expectations.
Upon receiving a box from Logitech, I was jumping for joy at the free shwag. When I opened it however, I found a pair of earphones that I frankly thought looked childish (I like my earphones to be made of metal). The design started to grow on me though.
My listen to a lot of pop, classical, rock, and metal.

    The good stuff-
    - Markings: You barely see any other than the UE logo which looks pretty good. The L/R markings are placed on the bottom of the buds so they aren't visible at all. Logitech did a good job hiding them. After a day with them, I realized that I didn't even need to look for the markings because they also gave the left earbud a little nub where the cable exits the bud so that you can figure out which side its for by feel.
    - The sound: I honestly wasn't expecting much especially since these are meant to be noise-isolating earphones and usually the greater the isolation, the lower the sound quality with cheaper earphones. The earphones won't blow your socks off like higher quality (and thus pricier) Ultimate Ears, but they're much more balanced than other earbuds for the same price on amazon. I appreciate that balance. There is a lot of detail in the sound though and that is really great for some classical or classic rock. Someone was talking about how the bass was non existent but I think that that person is just so used to (damaged by) the extremely bass heavy sound of Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds- the bass definitely exists here and I think its fine for most music.
    - Pack-in's: With Logitech/Ultimate Ears, you get more than most others for the price.

Another day, another entry into the crowded earphone market. I have a cabinet filled with entries from Ultimate Ears, Altec Lansing, Sennheiser, Shure, Koss, Sony, Monster, JVC, and more. Some I like a lot, some less so.

When it comes down to it, all these earbuds can be differentiated on the basis of three major criteria:

    A) Fit. Can I get decent fit with the provided silicone adapters, or do they keep falling out of my ears, regardless of what stock adapter I use?
    B) Construction. Do they feel as if they'll hold up in the long haul, or are they going to break/develop a short/whatever with use, even if I'm reasonably careful?
    C) Sound quality? Is it natural and neutral, or is the sound goosed in the midrange, or is the bass to heavy, or too faint?

On the whole, these Ultimate Ears 200 phones are pretty good on A, about average for B, and somewhat above average (given their cost) for C.

The fit, which is the Achilles heel of many otherwise good earbuds (some costing a lot more than these) is actually pretty good. Once I identified the right set of silicone tips, they earbuds stayed in my ears properly and didn't require much adjustment. Noise isolation was pretty good.

The construction is so-so. I see nothing to suggest these will not last. But the cable is a bit thin and I also don't suspect they will survive too many inadvertent yanks out of the ears (it happens). For my set, so far, so good. But my experience with these earphones is that eventual shorts in the wires are more the rule than the exception, and there's nothing special in the construction here that leads me to believe these will be stars in that respect.

    The sound quality is decent.

This was by far the best pair of in earbuds, with the potential to be the best headphones period, that I've ever owned. I'm no audiophile but sound quality was great across all my devices, the fit was better than anything I've had previously (I have small ear canals/entrances so it can be a pain, literally, to find comfortable earbuds) and the cord was nearly tangle proof. The carrying bag and the wide variety of buds that come with the headphones were really nice touches and the coup de grâce,each side is labeled appropriately yet unobtrusively (L for left, R for Right). This sounds like a glowing review right? Well it is. Or would have been had they not fallen apart as of a couple weeks ago, a mere couple months after having purchased them.

The screen in the left side fell out, the glue seemed to just have lost it's bond with the plastic of the actual headphone and while I could deal with this small annoyance, the sound in right side has cut to about 10%. In order to simply listen to them without going crazy I have to tweak the balance settings on my computer every time use them in an attempt to at least somewhat fix the stereo effect.

In attempt to be fair and remain unbiased, it should be noted that I listen to them while I work on homework on my computer which range from 6-10 hours per sitting about 4 days a week but beside that they don't see a lot of action. I don't exercise with them and when they are "in transit" with me they are securely tucked away in their pouch in an outside top pocket of my backpack (I point this out to note that nothing heavy sits on them/slams against them/yanks on the cord). In conclusion, they are great headphones, just expect to have to buy another pair in a few months after buying one if they see moderate use.
