A nice guide to fairy tales,

This book is really nice, the only negative feedback I have is that it's tittled "the ultimate fairy handbook", and its not.
The book does list not fairies by name nor specific legend. The book instead refers to faeries based on literature. The book does an amazing job giving you the elements of the fairy world. Fairy food, fairy world, archetypes, etc, but it does so in a very vague manner. If you want a book that covers the elements of fairy culture and literary works, this book is for you. However, if you looking for information about the Irish leprechaun, or the Scottish selkie, or any individual creature this book is not for you. If what you are looking for is an encyclopaedia of fairies I recommend the element encyclopedia of magical creatures. |
