The Night of Champions is a great example of UFC fighting history 101. The fighters covered were(and are) great, and deserved this special tribute.

Royce Gracie was featured first, his battles with Gardhoel, Pat Smith, Kimo, and Shamrock were covered. He is credited as the first great champion. Ken Shamrock's fights against Severn and Kimo were covered. Severn, Coleman, and Mo Smith's fights were shown, because they're champions. My question is why is Tank Abbott covered? Abbott is, and will never be considered a champion. He is a tool used to bring the local folk to fill the seats. He represents the WWF-style of fighter, not what MMA needs as an industry. I admit, he is a fascinating figure, very much like Mike Tyson is now. But to put him in with the same names that built this sport is an insult!

Also featured was a fight not aired, that took place in UFC XVII. Frank Shamrock's first competetive fight, against the very game Jeremy Horn. A great see-saw battle, with a great ending.

Not a bad tape if you don't own any other UFC tapes. If you do, the more you own, the less this tape will have anything unseen on it for you as IT IS A COMPILATION of fights featuring UFC veterans.

Fine, but lacks excitement and build-up of a proper UFC 'live' tournament. I suppose it is my own fault that I didn't twig that it was a compilation - a good tape in it's own right, Frank Shamrock's fight is a new one.

If you want a 'best of' type of tape, then this will do you fine. If you are a collector of the tapes, put this one last in your list.

If you only had one UFC Tape, this would be a good bet - IT IS A COMPILATION of various celebrated UFC champions (and veterans) fights. You will probably have seen most of these already on other tapes. Frank Shamrock's fight is a new one (to me anyway). So, it is good as a resource, but lacks the excitement and build up and 'live' feel of any other UFC tape.

Get the other tapes first, unless you want an overview of what UFC is all about.

thank you for having this title. the shamrock vs horn fight that determines who the ultimate fighting champion is of the middleweight division is very rare and very hard to find. this fight is included on this video. i actually had to find my vcr before i ordered this vhs tape :D success !!

Finally a UFC where you don't have to hit the Fast- Forward button. Missing a few good fights, but we finally get to see Frank Shamrock's third title defense. A must have for any UFC fan.
