5.0 out of 5 stars Party Time
I can't count how many times I've watched ULTIMATE FIGHTS. Every time a friend comes over I show them a scene/fight or two (I like the scenes from Scarface, Snatch, and Gladiator the best) and we usually end up watching the whole freakin thing. Plus it's got all the extras which I still don't think I've watched everything yet. It's got biographies, how to make your own...

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointing
The only 2 REAL ultimate fights on this is from Blade, and The legend of Drunken Master. I mean Scarface? Gladiator? SNATCH?! They are good movies, but those scenes DO NOT belong on an Ultimate Fights Dvd. Hopefully they can do a Vol.2 with Blade 2, Jet Li, Matrix, stuff like that FIGHTS! I don't want a dvd of brawls or a long crappy shootout.

Plus it's got all the extras which I still don't think I've watched everything yet. It's got biographies, how to make your own fight, commentary tracks from fight guys in Hollywood, and others - like I said I haven't watched everything yet.
If I'm not showing it to anybody I'll put it on in the background or I'll put it on while we're getting ready to go out on the weekends because the soundtrack is awesome and it gets us all excited and ready to go (They have this Rumble in the Bronx re-mix feature that kicks). ULTIMATE FIGHTS is a definate plus to my DVD collection - I just hope I don't wear it out!!

What a cool DVD! I've never seen anything quite like it before and the quality of the fight selection was really impressive. The best part was where they teach you how to stage a fight just like in the movies! Dont miss this one!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Let's get Ready to Rumble, April 15, 2002

Have you seen "Ultimate Fights"? You will. Soon.
"Ultimate Fights" is jam packed full of the best scenes from "Gladiator," "Snatch," "Rumble in the Bronx," and many other classic fight movies such as "Players Club," "Blade" and many many more. "Ultimate Fights" delivers a knock out montage of some of best fight scenes as well as a commentary and educational documentary on how to stage your own fight scene. But that is not all, just when I was relaxing into the flow, "Ultimate Fights" provided sound options and fighter profiles and DVD ROM options and trivia. I think they are associated with Maxim because I've read about them there before online and I know I read about the other compilation DVD Boogeyman in Maxim "Ultimate Fights" is perfect for parties and bars as there is no need to delve deep into plot or worry about any cunning directorial prestidigitation the likes of "Usual Suspects" or "Wag the Dog". "Ultimate Fights" unwinds as most montage movies with the breakneck pace of a rocket powered yoyo. I think Ultimate Fights will sweep the nation. The movie doesn't have any of that sap you see in movies such as "Man Bites Dog" or the "Professional," just the best parts of the best fight movies, including clips such as the final scene from "Fist of Legend," a Quentin Tarantino recommended film starring Jet Li. I can't see why someone would rent movies devoid of the artistic panache and craftsmanship of "Braveheart" such as "The Best of the Best 3" when you know you're just going to fast forward it to the fighting scenes so figure it's about time they came out with a compilation DVD with good fighting scenes.

After getting an advance of the DVD, I wasn't really sure what this was all about. Just clips of random fight scenes? However, not only does the DVD include some of the coolest fight scenes in recent cinematic history (Snatch and Scarface are my favorites), it also takes advantage of the DVD format with special features that teach you all about the scenes (trivia!), including how to stage your own. For a mere [low cost], it's certainly worth every penny. I think it's a great DVD to watch with a group of friends or just a perfect gift for action flick enthusiasts...

5.0 out of 5 stars This DVD is fabulous!, April 23, 2002

I first saw this DVD at a party and absolutely loved it... now I'm a girl who isn't a huge fan of fight movies but all of us who saw it thought it was so fabulous. It is fast paced and only shows you the best scences from the best fight movies... and really isn't that what you really want to see when you watch these movies? I also loved the music that went with each movie clip. It totally kept my attention and I would show it at my own party or watch it just for fun. I can't say enough about this DVD. It is so different than every other DVD that comes out. I give this one 10 stars. If you haven't already heard about it, I'm sure you will... it's that great!

The Ultimate Fights DVD is one of a kind. Not only do you get the most intense fighting scenes from your favorite movies, but there are other features as well including a trivia game, behind the scenes features, theatrical trailers, and other exciting DVD-Rom features. Scarface, Blade, Legend of the Drunken Master, and the Bruce Lee story are only a handful of the featured movies! If you love intensity and consider yourself a movie buff, then this DVD is a must have!

Excellent DVD for when you dont want to commit to watching all whole fight movie but want to see some action. Being such an action fan I loved the information that was provided about the movies. You have to check out about Jackie Chans information on his movies. The sound is great. This is a must have for action fans and movie buffs.

4.0 out of 5 stars "AWESOME," says a GIRL..., April 17, 2002
By
This review is from: Ultimate Fights, Vol. 2 (DVD)
Not only is Ultimate Fights every guy's dream, but this GIRL even likes it... A LOT. FlixMix has definitely selected the best fight scenes ever and put them all together in an INCREDIBLE DVD package. The extra footage alone makes the purchase worth every penny. I really am excited about Ultimate Fights--FlixMix indeed created a worthy sequel to its last release, Boogeymen. Not only have I memorized the whole DVD (the Snatch scene is my favorite), but I have quickly gained the attention of all of my guy friends...and the envy of all of my girl friends...
