Disco or Dance? Whatever you call it, it makes you move!, December 31, 2001
This review is from: Ultimate: Greatest Remixes (Audio CD)
During the early 90's no group filled up the dance floor like C & C Music Factory. Once Zelma Davis's cry of "Everybody Dance Now" was heard, hordes of dancers jumped, gyrated, bumped and ground to their hearts content.
This set of 10 extended remixes dramatically showcases the group headed by Robert Civilles and David Cole. From the familiar ("Gonna Make You Sweat," "Here We Go Let's Rock & Roll," "Things that Make You Go Hmmmmm...," and "A Deeper Love") to the more obscure ("Keep it Comin'" and "Robi-Robs' Boriqua Anthem"), "Ultimate" is the perfect party package.
The Barry White-influenced "Take a Toke" is a welcome surprise among the selections. And the final cut "I Found Love" features the powerful vocals of Martha Wash, a diva that "out divas" all others.

Maxximum funky sensation!, June 19, 2001
This review is from: Ultimate: Greatest Remixes (Audio CD)
"Ultimate" by C&C contains all of their famous club anthems in extended versions or totally remixed. Sounds that Clivilles & Cole produced range from slow-tempo r'n'b (like "Take A Toke"), pop-rap chartbreakers (like "Gonna Make You Sweat" and "Here We Go") to garage, deep and latin-house masterpieces (like "A Deeper Love" etc.) They all contain funky grooves and positive vibration. A real funky-music lover should have THIS album in his collection.

C+C Fans will love it, June 18, 2005
This review is from: Ultimate: Greatest Remixes (Audio CD)
A couple variations on some of the C+C tunes you know, plus a few other good tracks. Boriqua Anthem is the absolute best and a fun song. The preview online here doesn't do that track any justice - it really isn't a representative section of the song. But if you like C+C, you will enjoy this disc.
