About the Author

In 2003, Linda LaTourelle was boxing and shipping copies of her self-published compilation, The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, from the guest room of her home in Mayfield, Kentucky. That was the birth of Bluegrass Publishing. Since then, Bluegrass Publishing has grown into one of the leading publishers of collections of original and traditional verses, quotes and sayings in the scrapbooking industry. The success of Word led to the publication of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card in February, 2004. In July of that year, Linda made her debut at the Association of Crafts and Creative Industry's convention with The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Kids. She has continued that trend by releasing the elementary school edition, The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Kids Vol.2 and an expanded edition of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card in the summer of 2005. In addition to her own writing, Linda continues to seek out and publish some talented writers, poets and artists in, and out of, the crafting world.

BLUEGRASS PUBLISHING HISTORY

Bluegrass Publishing Inc. began in 200, when CEO Linda LaTourelle wrote and self-published her first book from home. The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, written specifically for crafters, is a collection of journaling kick-starts and quotes, topically arranged to inspire and compliment any project. This title has now sold over 265,000 copies, making it a best-seller in the craft industry.

With a passion for writing and a love for people, LaTourelle began to fulfill the dreams of new authors by publishing their original poetry, quotes and instructional books.
In just over one year, rapid growth and demand for her products and services required a move to a much larger facility.

Listening to the voices of clients and consumers, Bluegrass answered through the development of new products, such as transparencies, cd's and downloadable art. However, books remained the heart of Bluegrass.

Generous servings of southern hospitality have earned Bluegrass Publishing an outstanding reputation within the crafting industry. Through attention to detail, passion for what they do and the ability to find a niche, the company has become recognized as a publishing leader.

Linda's very first book, The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, defined the company's vision to give crafters the perfect inspiration for all their projects. Following that vision, Bluegrass authors write words that speak to the hearts and creativity of individuals. As a result, the ever-expanding Crafter's Library is now recognized as a must-have resource for every crafter.

Through commitment to excellence, Bluegrass is pleased to be celebrating five years in the publishing industry. It is with the ultimate gratitude that we say THANK YOU!

3.0 out of 5 stars Ultimate? Perhaps not..., January 2, 2010

I had high hopes for this book and was excited when I finally received it. It's really not the "ultimate" guide though. First of all, the font used in the book is along the lines of childlike print and gets annoying after several pages. In addition, the author has several, numerous quotes of HERSELF and a lot of the others are from her friends. I found that to be pretty cheesy. I think some of the quotes and expressions might be useful, but not nearly as helpful as I had hoped.
