About the Author

In 2003, Linda LaTourelle was boxing and shipping copies of her self-published compilation, The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, from the guest room of her home in Mayfield, Kentucky. That was the birth of Bluegrass Publishing. Since then, Bluegrass Publishing has grown into one of the leading publishers of collections of original and traditional verses, quotes and sayings in the scrapbooking industry. The success of Word led to the publication of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card in February, 2004. In July of that year, Linda made her debut at the Association of Crafts and Creative Industry's convention with The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Kids. She has continued that trend by releasing the elementary school edition, The Ultimate Guide to Celebrating Kids Vol.2 and an expanded edition of The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card in the summer of 2005. In addition to her own writing, Linda continues to seek out and publish some talented writers, poets and artists in, and out of, the crafting world.

BLUEGRASS PUBLISHING HISTORY

Bluegrass Publishing Inc. began in 200, when CEO Linda LaTourelle wrote and self-published her first book from home. The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, written specifically for crafters, is a collection of journaling kick-starts and quotes, topically arranged to inspire and compliment any project. This title has now sold over 265,000 copies, making it a best-seller in the craft industry.

With a passion for writing and a love for people, LaTourelle began to fulfill the dreams of new authors by publishing their original poetry, quotes and instructional books.
In just over one year, rapid growth and demand for her products and services required a move to a much larger facility.

Listening to the voices of clients and consumers, Bluegrass answered through the development of new products, such as transparencies, cd's and downloadable art. However, books remained the heart of Bluegrass.

Generous servings of southern hospitality have earned Bluegrass Publishing an outstanding reputation within the crafting industry. Through attention to detail, passion for what they do and the ability to find a niche, the company has become recognized as a publishing leader.

Linda's very first book, The Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Word, defined the company's vision to give crafters the perfect inspiration for all their projects. Following that vision, Bluegrass authors write words that speak to the hearts and creativity of individuals. As a result, the ever-expanding Crafter's Library is now recognized as a must-have resource for every crafter.

Through commitment to excellence, Bluegrass is pleased to be celebrating five years in the publishing industry. It is with the ultimate gratitude that we say THANK YOU!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Inspiration for Scrapbookers, January 9, 2007

I had seen this book used by fellow scrapbookers at a crop recently and found it at a great price so I thought I would give it a try. If you are like me sometimes I get stumped and need a little inspiration for title, journaling, etc. this book is for you. This book literally has a section on almost every subject you could scrapbook. I have used it when creating cards also. It has lots of really great quotes that just add the "finishing touch" to a page and make for great journaling too. Some topics I wish there were more on but with this many topics I understand why you have to limit content.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, March 7, 2006

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
A friend of mine has a bookshelf of books to get ideas of what to write in our scrapbooks. She showed this book to me and told me she only uses it, and the rest are worthless. It was quite hard for me to find this, but it was worth it! I LOVE IT! It has a ton of different occasions or topics, all in alphabetical order. SO HELPFUL! I got the Guide to the Perfect Card also, and love it, too!

4.0 out of 5 stars Just What the Serious Scrapbooker Needs, August 4, 2007

This review is from: Ultimate Guide To The Perfect Word (Paperback)
I am an advid scrapbooker, but at times, ideas for pages and titles just will elude me. I saw this book and thought "WOW!! this is something I could use!!" When I opened my new book, I began to see ideas flying off the pages right onto my scrapbook page. It is a good book to have, when those ideas are just not there. My "Ulimate Guide to the Perfect Word" has become a very important part of a relaxing evening with pictures that will become lifelong memories for family and friends.
