Anyone applying to PA school or thinking about it, this book will give you an idea of what PA's do in different specialty fields AND its even better for PA students!! First book I've found that gives information about the profession, advice to people interested in applying to PA school AND advice for current PA students. I am a current PA student and this book continues to help me with every step of the PA process! It has great advice on how to excel in PA school and how to make a smooth transition from school to work. Great book. Hands down the most comprehensive book you will find on the PA profession.

Anyone considering a career in the medical field should read this book...FIRST! It starts off with an informative history of the Physician Assistant Profession and walks you through selecting a school, succeeding in studies, and transitioning into a career. There are many excerpts written by practicing Physician Assistants describing the numerous sub-specialties available to P.A.s. It makes the reader understand why Forbes.com rated Physician Assistant Studies the No 1 best Master's Degree for jobs. It is a rapidly growing profession with limitless possibilities. If you, or someone you know, is thinking about a medical career, but unsure where to start, get this book, get informed, get started.

This book is outstanding. I am an x-ray technologist and when I went to school some 30 years ago it would have been so helpful for my profession to have a book like this. Amazing that every subject was touched upon including how much time was needed for study and exactly how to prioritize your life and family to do so. Every profession needs a book like this. Great read.

As a PA-student I found this book to be extremely helpful! I thought I knew all the specialities one could do as a PA and was quite surprised to see other fields I never imagined you could do! I also like how we get to follow students at different parts of their career whether it be in the didactic year 1 or on clinical rotations. It will also be very useful to people who are considering apply to PA school. This book definitely will also be helpful during my transition from student to PA with amazing tips on interviewing, paying off school loans and more!

This book is a great way to prepare for PA school and life after PA school. It accurately reflects didactic, clinical and post-graduation life. It's a must read for all those interested in the physician assistant profession and is a great resource to those who are currently in PA school and contemplating what their next step is. It is full of interviews and daily accounts from PA students and practicing specialty PAs, which is awesome for those of us confused about what a day in the life of a hematology physician assistant is really like.
