Even having a music degree, I had no idea what I was getting into when planning the music for my wedding. This guide comes with a CD that contains excerpts from 99 pieces of music varying from the most recognizable and widely used 'wedding' type pieces, to some others I would never have thought to use in a wedding, but might fit rather nicely. It's a great tool for anyone who feels lost and confused at the prospect of selecting the soundtrack to their special day. Additionally, the book breaks these pieces down into suggested uses within the context of a traditional wedding (the first 20 tracks they suggest for use in the processional, next 20 suggested for the recessional, etc.) The book also describes the desired setting for each segment of the ceremony and provides a crash course in classical music, not to mention lyrics for 100 popular wedding songs. At the very least, this guide will get you geared up for finding just the perfect song for every perfect moment, and make the whole venture a lot less intimidating.

This book is great if you are unfamilar with classical music or need some ideas. The CD is wonderful and really helps give you ideas for music to play at your wedding. The book is helpful as well giving details such as composer and catlog numbers so you can easily find the music or tell the musicans what you want them to play. My only complaint is that a large chunk of the book is filled with song lyrics and I didn't find this helpful or useful at all. Otherwise a great buy.

This is a great, great book! It gave us tons of ideas and helped to pick out a mother/groom song. The lists are fantastic! The worksheets are wonderful and the lyrics that are included are very helpful. The CD is the best part though, it saved us lots of money of buying classical music CD's. We listened to the enclosed CD, jotted down the ones we liked and then bought only the CD's we needed. I can not say enough good things about this book. It was a purchase that I saw in a book store, put it down but kept thinking about it, until finally I just had to buy it. So glad I did. You will not waste your money with this purchase.

This is an excellent resource and very well laid out. It will having you thinking about songs you totally forgot about or wouldn't have normally thought of for that dance (First Dance, father/daughter, etc). It also has a good mix of genres for each song type. So if your looking for a father/daughter dance it will suggest several from each genre...classic, rock,pop, country, etc.

The one we bought also came with a disc of snippits of over 100 of the songs (which were referenced in the book as to where to find them on the CD) and it was helpful for those of us who can't readily relate a song with it's title or performing artst.

Highly reccomend! Well worth the little money paid!
