Ultimate Intention,
By Mark Waynick (Macon, Ga United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ultimate Intention (Paperback)
This book rates as one of the greatest spiritual truths God has revealed in my life. The first was salvation. The second, was understanding spiritual warfare. The third, has to be this book topic... understanding God's ultimate purpose for my life. This book's truth, if you allow the Holy Spirit to do so, will revolutionize your life. I highly recommend it as it speaks greatly of the working of the cross in us and the resurected life that comes as a result.Mark

Mind boggling,HEART opening book!,
By Virginia Boudwin (Plymouth, MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ultimate Intention (Paperback)
This book, along with many other carefully chosen books which God has brought to my attention has helped me in my walk with Him. I have been a Christian for many years. Mr. Fromke's book has opened my heart to what the CROSS means to God, not just redemption, but the restoration of what was lost to mankind when he chose to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil instead of The Tree of Life. There is so MUCH more! Read it for a life changing experiance.

I loved this old fashioned book. It warmed my heart and encouraged me in my Christian walk greatly. In a generation that is mostly self-centered and self referencing - even in Christian thought - this book challenged me to see and understand God's big picture of a world He created and loves; it helped me to better know the heart, nature or character, and purposes of the God revealed in the Holy Bible. Wonderful1! Terrific!

Of the many books that i have read, this is a must read for any Christian. It will open your eyes to help you understand your relationship with God in a way that you have not understood before. If you are determined to be changed by God, this is a step in the right direction, for it will give you a proper point of reference to life as a believer in respect to God. I especially encourage servants in leadership to read this book so that they can properly lead their entrusted precious Souls into their care by God. This is a great book for everyone. It is easy to read and to grasp, and i love the explanations of the chapters at the end of the book by the editor. This extra help really helps you to understand what the author is writing. This book along with "Disciples are made not born" is one of the top 5 books i recommend for all believers to read. May God bless your journey with Him.

I was about 16 years old when I was first introduced to this book "The Ultimate Intentention" by DeVern Fromke. I bought a copy of it and started reading it. But it required to much still, quiet, thoughtful time for a boy who was active in sports. So,it was put on a shelf to be forgotten a number of times.
I did "study" the book at one time. But I was really just trying to get a good grade as it was required reading at a small college I attened. I know tis because my original copy is well marked. The cover and back are also heavily worn. You see, I had picked up this book many times during my life but really couldn't get into it very well. I had thought of giving it to a charitable organization many times. But then one day, about 2 months ago, I picked it up and started reading the introduction and first chapter. Then I re-read the first chapter.(The first chapter in the newer book is different than the one from the 60's)It discussed the imperitiveness of having the proper starting point when trying to understand scripture and understanding why God created the universe(s). Once establishing this, Mr. Fromke applies the new found bases to various doctrines. A deeper understanding of God is sure to come to any reader. However, it must be understood that this book is not an easy read in that one should take time to aborb to what is being said. Re-reading a chapter or portion of a chapter may be necessary to absorb the depth of thought. The writing itself is rather simple: the depth of thought takes time to appreciate. As a result of finally getting into this book a number of weeks ago I got to wondering if it were still in print. Low and behold I found that it was and decided to replace my broken down copy to find a newer improved copy is available. I also bought some extras to give as gifts. The newer publication of The Ultimate Intention has a Appendix that was not in the 1960s' version. It includes a chapter to chapter study guide that could be used for private growth or group study as well as added material for a number of chaptrs. I wish I was more able to express how these words have changed my viewpoint of God as well as you, my fellow man. If one truly understands God's true purpose in creating themselves, than how can thier outlook on life NOT change?

In the midst of so much selfish, prosperity-gospel preaching going on in America, this book is a breath of fresh air. It is sound, biblical nuggets of wisdom, but makes it practical for those not interested in a deep, theological treatise.
The main message is calling Christians out of "what do I get for saying 'yes' to Jesus?" kind of Christianity, and ushering them into "I've been restored to my loving Father, and now I can partner with Him to bring forth His desires" kind of Christianity. The Lord has used this book to challenge me and encourage me in a powerful way. The Ultimate Intention is full of stories, analogies, and charts that help explain salvation, sanctification, and the work of the Cross in a beautifully simple way. DVern Fromke's analogies are so helpful - I am grateful for the insight God has given him! This is deeper revelation than just milk. You may have to take the chapters one week at a time, because there is so much to chew on. Go ahead and get at least 5 copies of this book, because you will want to share this with people you love. |
