It is a good start...,

I am a keyboard/piano player, and I wanted to learn basic rhythmic and chord patterns of Latin music for music therapy practice. This book was satisfactory in meeting my needs, although samples in the attached CD sound a little bit too mechanical. Overall, all the riffs presented are sometimes too simple, but I have no complaint about it. I consider these are only materials and how these sample riffs develop will depend on arrangement. So I think it is a good start to learn Latin music for piano/keyboard players.

What I like best about this book is the short phrases of Latin Piano riffs. No long drawn out pieces just lines that move in a logical progression.

Excellent book. It's truly fun and you actually learn a lot from this. This book gives you the idea about playing salsa, and other styles. You can't go wrong when "Carlos Campos" is involved. Buy his other books---you will become the salsa master after learning his books. You can't go wrong.
