Searing, rhythmic African drumming combined with the electronica of house make for excellent listening and dancing. The percussion however, is not wholly African, as there are some tracks that have a Latin influence. The strength of the CD is consistent- the beats and rhythms stay hot for all 10 tracks.

This compilation rocks the house! I have been using it as a World Music DJ ever since it came out, and it is one of the best investments I made. The Latin X-Press tracks are particularly good. This CD is from Miami, and reflects that cities musical heritage. The tracks are all house oriented, but one finds Latin horns, Brazilian, Cuban and Haitian vocals. Track one is amazing. Here you have a Haitian voodoo chant to the orisha (loa) chango coupled with some amazing beats. Highly reccommended.

Truthfully I only purchased this CD for one track: Tubale (Extasy) by Warning which is an extremely rare find on CD. This is the original club remix of this hot, Latin-infused house jam! Tubale (Extasy) climbed to #3 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play chart back in 1993. Once this CD is out of print, who knows if this gem will ever be available again. Don't sleep on it!
