3.0 out of 5 stars "ULTIMATE" IS A RELATIVE TERM February 22, 2011
Verified Purchase
It's a big stretch for the makers of this game to call this the "Ultimate" Movie Quiz. I've gone through almost 800 questions and can tell you that there are less than 40 films referenced throughout. If you haven't seen Carlito's Way, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Withnail and I, then don't bother getting this game. There are an inordinate amount of questions for these three films so it's not even worth the $1.99 price.

5.0 out of 5 stars loved this game February 19, 2011

Since I love trivia games I had to get this one. As it says in the description above you can play in rounds or in a continuous stream of questions. I am playing it in a continuous stream of questions. I have gone through about 32 questions as of this review and got 22 of them correct. I knew alot of the answers but also made some correct guesses as well. When playing the continuous stream version it says once you get a question correct it will not appear again. In round play, rounds consist of 10 questions - you must get 5 or more correct to move on to the next round. Once you clear a round, all correct questions will not appear again. You do have the option of a timer for either mode of play if you want to add a little more difficulty to it. Also you can check your progress by selecting "Quiz Progress" from the main menu. It also states you can reset your quiz progress and your correctly answered questions back to zero from the pop-up menu. I may do this once I've made it through all 1,000 questions. I think that whether or not the questions are easy or hard depends greatly on whether or not you've seen the movie they are from. All questions are multiple choice and you get 3 possible answers to choose from. You simply read the question, use the joystick to highlight your choice, press the joystick down and the kindle reveals whether you got it right or wrong. I found no problems with any lagging when you make your choices or when revealing the answer or moving on to the next question. I'm glad I got this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Movie Quiz criticism March 2, 2011

This was a big disappointment because it only covers a few movies which are almost entirely of the Star Wars, Matrix, Corps Bride special effects type movies. The questions are repeated ad nauseum which I found strange. Questions were repeated over and over again!

2.0 out of 5 stars These people have never watched Harry Potter February 21, 2012
While i was playing this game i came to the question"in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince what does Malfoy use to test if the Vanishing Cabinet is working?" Anyone who watched the movie would know that he 1st tests it with an apple and then a canary(bird). i chose the bird and apple option on the selection and pressed answer question. it proceeded to tell me i was wrong and tries to convince me he tests it with a peach and mouse! i mean come on! not exactly ultimate if you cant get your info straight! please fix this and any other fails.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun but... October 3, 2011
By Caitlyn

The game all in all was fun but sometimes the answers to the questions are wrong. I am huge movie person and and if its a movie that i really liked no matter how long ago it was i would be my life savings that my answers are right. For instance a harry potter movie question asked me about what was in the vanishing cabinet...it listed the wrong movie as the title and said the answer was something ridiculous like a carrot. Most of the other questions seemed accurate so buyer beware. besides that i cant say it wasn't fun

3.0 out of 5 stars Lots of fun July 24, 2011

It is a somewhat easy game, but it is fun to play when just sitting around waiting and not wanting to dive into a book since the wait may not be that long.

It is somewhat easy for a movie buff, but not too easy that I am constantly feeling that I know everything.

Also fun to play in a group when your sitting at your local bar, trying to win a few drinks from the owner. Enjoy it as it is not meant to be a serious game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Change Question; Repeat Answer April 2, 2011
By Eagle

Playing this while waiting in line at the grocery store is fine. If you put any time into playing it, you will notice the questions change but the answers choices stay the same. Whoever created it did not have a wide variety of knowledge about movies. I'm glad it was free. It wasn't worth more.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not all that engaging January 17, 2012

I am not sure what I expected, but I guess I hoped it might be more fun to play. I thought the questions were a bit too easy and I think a more engaging format would increase the "fun factor".

2.0 out of 5 stars False Impression
Disappointing. There are many questions repeated, word for word, throughout the game making it actually fewer questions than the game boasts of.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ok but facts need to be checked
The quiz is pretty good, but the questions repeat and some of the answers are wrong. Two of the Harry Potter questions that I have come across so far are wrong.

3.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm...
Some of the movies are really old and the questions repeat very often. All in all it was interesting for a few games.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mildly entertaining
It's ok but nothing spectacular. It would be more entertaining to have just watched a movie. What a waste of money.
