Decca has come out with the "Ultimate" Series of albums, ranging from Opera Divas to Tango, from Patriotic to Relaxing Classical. I ordered this album last fall from a high school student in my neighborhood going door to door raising funds for her hockey team. I had no idea what the Christmas music was, I just wanted something relaxing. When it arrived in the mail I was delighted to hear favorites from my youth - Annunzio P. Mantovani, Frank Chacksfield (remember him?), and Ronnie Aldrich - all remastered in terrific sound! The liner notes are fun to read, providing a story for each carol and song. This generous album of 22 tracks runs a total time of 63:25, providing holiday ambience from Thanksgiving through New Years Day.

This album is just what it says -- Ultimate Relaxtion. The sound is good, the music selections are well done and well chosen. Just turn out the lights, turn on the tree, and put this music on. You'll be relaxed as can be in no time!

This is a great, relaxing Christmas CD. I was looking for a Christmas CD to turn on when I put my baby to sleep. This was the PERFECT one!

Close your eyes, and you will begin to feel the cracling fire, and smell the roasting chestnuts, as this cd fills you with warm holiday memories. I would call this a must have for the hectic days of the season. The name truly says it all.

The CD is what it is said to be, relaxing. My husband and I think is very good!

I have been using this to go to sleep during a very stressful holiday season. I have never heard the whole thing at night since it puts me to sleep long before then.

Awesome moody sounds, great performance by Mantovani and his orchestra! Highly recommended! I love this collection, especially "Adeste Fideles" (O come, all ye faithful). Wonderful!

We loved this CD. The music is beautiful and great background since it is all instrumental. Very calming at a sometimes stressful time of year.

This brings back warm memories of Christmas in the 1960's - the smell of baking cookies, fireplace crackling, the glow of the tree lights just around the corner of the living room. If you want an album with old fashioned charm and happiness this is it. November, 2011.

The title of this CD describes it perfectly. It contains very relaxing and beautiful versions of traditional Christmas classics in an unobtrusive way. It's a nice addition to my collection of Christmas music.
