5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Great Marketing Ideas!
Business and sales people working with tight marketing budgets like me will find this book very useful because about half of the marketing ideas are very smart, but inexpensive. I have used some ideas about cross-promotion from the book, and within days it helped me land a few thousand dollars worth of new sales, an amazing return on investment!!! For the most part the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good ideas can be found in the book
I found the book contained a great many ideas. Not all of them were useful for the service I was marketing, but enough of them were to make the price of the book acceptable. Some ideas (such as carrying your business cards with you and leaving them with everyone you come into contact with-even when paying bills at restaurants) seemed simple but were very effective in...

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of Great Marketing Ideas!, November 18, 2003
Business and sales people working with tight marketing budgets like me will find this book very useful because about half of the marketing ideas are very smart, but inexpensive. I have used some ideas about cross-promotion from the book, and within days it helped me land a few thousand dollars worth of new sales, an amazing return on investment!!! For the most part the marketing suggestions are very simple and belong in the "why didn't I think of that file," but there are some that are more advanced and likely better suited to fortune 500 marketers with monster advertising budgets. Chapters cover marketing ideas for sales, advertising, public relations, retailing, marketing planning, websites and e-commerce, trade shows, competition, and customer service ideas. The author has even created a symbol guide which indicates things such as the approximate cost to implement the marketing idea, and if the idea is a do-it-yourself job, or if you should call in professional help. The book also contains many additional sources of marketing information, ideas, associations, and services. My only complaint is that there is so much information in the book that it is a bit overwhelming if you try to take in too much at one time. This book is my new marketing library.

Alex Gray (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews
I have operated a successful business for twenty years and have purchased a countless number of books on sales and marketing topics and must admit that this is the first time that I have ever been compelled to comment on a book. This is HANDS DOWN THE BEST MARKETING BOOK AVAILABLE, PERIOD! If you are looking for fast, easy, and inexpensive ways to sell more then I highly recommend that you get this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ten times more useful than guerrilla marketing, April 13, 2005
If you are looking for clear and concise marketing information and ideas that will have a positive impact on bottom line business profits or sales commissions, this is the book for you. Having purchased and read The Ultimate Start Up Directory, and The Ultimate Homebased Business Handbook, I have become a big fan of the author, because his business and marketing ideas are always right on the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Works, December 2, 2004
I have increased revenues at my bridal salon 20% since I bought this book last spring and applied a few of the really simple marketing tips. I gained valuable ideas on how to improve my business and sales without having to break the bank in the process. If you want to sell more, quickly and easily, I highly recommend you buy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great source of marketing ideas for any organization!, February 23, 2006

(REAL NAME)
I originally checked out a copy of this book from my local library. However after reading it cover to cover, I wanted to purchase my own copy. The author comes up with some really good and practical marketing ideas. I used some of the ideas in the book to come up with a couple of marketing pieces for the local non-profit organization that I am currently volunteering with. The book does a good job of telling the reader what to do, but it falls a little short in telling how to do it. Overall, it is a good book to have in my business library.

I found the book contained a great many ideas. Not all of them were useful for the service I was marketing, but enough of them were to make the price of the book acceptable. Some ideas (such as carrying your business cards with you and leaving them with everyone you come into contact with-even when paying bills at restaurants) seemed simple but were very effective in practice. I am new to marketing and I found that from the simple to the more complex means of putting your service out there this book is useful and allows the user to accelerate his or her marketing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plenty of Good Ideas, March 9, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is not a cover-to-cover book about marketing theory, but rather a large series of examples that cover many marketing categories and topics. While I can't say I use a lot of these ideas everyday, many are good and for me, the best benefit is reading a wide variety of ideas in general. Marketing is more creativity than science in my opinion (once you identify a real market with some measure of certainty), so reading such a varied collection gets my mind thinking in new directions. That alone made the book worth it for my money. YMMV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sales 101,201,301,401, March 3, 2006
Very comprehensive from a topic standpoint! May not completely discuss a topic, but it covers them all. It also provides a tremendous amount of great ideas, which was what I purchased the book for.
