5.0 out of 5 stars a great and easy way to lose weight quickly
I have read this book and found it to be totally fascinating and informative. I have already started the diet and have started shedding pounds but more importantly inches! It's great... they are just melting away. Plus I have more energy and feel great. I bought some of the craving teas on line and love the way they taste. I have a real sweet tooth and they have...

2.0 out of 5 stars Too hard to follow every day
This book recommends that you drink at least 8 cups of tea per day. If you're making hot tea, this is really inconvenient, especially if you're a busy person. I bought some of his teas and I was disappointed -they weren't as good as I hoped.

5.0 out of 5 stars A review for the Guys, January 13, 2008

This review is from: The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss (Hardcover)
Like most men, "tea" wasn't in my vocabulary. My fiancée got this book for "US" so we can look our best for our wedding this spring. To make her happy, we read the Ultimate TEA Diet together at night. It did not take long before I realized I was actually learning something of value from this guy and that there may be some common sense to his diet approach. Fair or not, I have lost more weight initially than my fiancée, but we have enjoyed the process together and talk about new teas we try each day. I previously drank a lot of coffee (4-6 cups daily) and sticking to the black and oolong teas initially helped me get past the headaches friends warned me about. The book is informational and gives you a new outlook towards caffeine, acid and your bodies Ph. Full of recipes; rather than a diet, we are beginning some lifestyle changes that even a "meat and potatoes" guy like myself can enjoy. Pleasantly surprised - enjoy the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank you Dr Tea, January 13, 2008
This review is from: The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss (Hardcover)
What a great book!
Imagine, making tea fun!!
I love this book....nothing boring here.
I keep hearing so much lately about tea....now I know why.
The Ultimate Tea Diet tells you everything you need to know about tea .....how to brew the perfect cup of tea, how to make unbelievably delicous tea shakes, how to cook with tea, and so much more.
While I quickly jumped forward to the diet chapters, I found myself
working my way back to earlier chapters....which were very interesting.
I now start each day with green tea, and substitute my snacking with green tea, or frosteas (CappuTeano and mint chocolate chip ice cream my favorites).
I'm losing weight AND inches....It's only been three weeks, but I can almost wear my "skinny" jeans again!
Be sure to check out all the "craving teas" Dr. Tea talks about....that's the fun part.
FYI, the Ultimate Tea Diet website offers all of Dr Tea's craving teas, which makes the diet easy.
Thank you Dr Tea!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tea is the answer!, January 21, 2008
This review is from: The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss (Hardcover)
If you want to take off those pounds and keep them off then this book is for you! For the past 25 years I've had jasmine green tea several times a day. Until Dr. Tea's book came out I never made the connection between my tea comsumption and the consistent numbers which always come up on my scales. It was a lightbulb moment for me; I never realized that weight loss and my consistent weight were as simple as having a cup of tea. Dr. Tea offers some of the best teas I've ever tasted such as Caramel(my favourite next to jasmine), gingerbread and apple pie. Next time you feel the urge for a desert, have one of these teas instead - you'll be pleasantly surprised at how a cup of tea can satifsy your craving for that desert. The recipes in his book are new and delicious! The tea rubs are an excellent way to not only add flavour, but also get that extra bit of tea in your system. Next time you think you've tried everything to lose and maintain your weight, give The Ultimate Tea Diet a go - I'm speaking from 25 years of tea experience and it has definitely worked for me!

I had seen this guy on tv over the holidays and thought I would track down his book. I didn't go far as it is everywhere. Amazing how something as common as tea and smart dining choices can help your metabolism and really give you back energy. Hat's off to "Dr. Tea" for pointing out what has been right in front of us. Tea!

As many American's, I think we are quite naïve when it comes to tea; the varieties available, along with the health benefits of each. Much like enjoying wine, tea has a fascinating history and an enormous variety of flavors. I really appreciated how "Dr Tea" shared this wonderful world in such an informative and useful way. I am now comfortable with knowing when and why to order and enjoy either Black, Oolong, Green, White, Herbal/Tisane or Rooibos. This has really been an eye opener. I am excited and having fun as I explore and learn the complexities and creative varieties of each. The book even coached me on how to find the teas that I would love as I continue to pursue my diet goals. The chapter on putting down that cup of coffee really hit home. There are numerous great points to give up your cup of coffee, along with caffeinated energy drinks and diet pills. I still have my morning caffeine, simply in a much kinder and manageable dose for my body and health goals. I highly recommend this book and am really pleased how the Ultimate Tea Diet "Craving Teas" are helping me past my typical cheat moments and I am eating less. Thanks, Dr Tea!

HI, I loved the book. I have been drinking tea (like the book suggests) for a few days now and I am amazed at the difference it has made in my sleep! I didn't think drinking caffinated drinks all day would HELP me sleep. Plus, I ordered some of the tea recommended in the book and it is WONDERFUL! I will continue to drink tea like this even when I lose the 10 pounds I want to lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great recipes and little-known facts about tea, January 8, 2008
This review is from: The Ultimate Tea Diet: How Tea Can Boost Your Metabolism, Shrink Your Appetite, and Kick-Start Remarkable Weight Loss (Hardcover)
On January 1, I cozied up with my copy of The Ultimate Tea Diet, steaming mug of coffee in hand, and by page eleven I was firing up the teakettle.

"Now rise, and show your strength," says Dr. Tea, quoting from Jerome K. Jerome (Three Men in a Boat). "Be eloquent, and deep, and tender; see, with a clear eye, into Nature, and into life: spread your white wings of quivering thought, and soar, a god-like spirit, over the whirling world beneath you, up through long lanes of flaming stars to the gates of eternity."

If that's not a worthy New Year's resolution, I don't know what is.

With a collection of more than three-dozen teapots, some from Jerome's own Staffordshire, England, you'd think I'd know how to use them by now. But, like many of my other good intentions, they languish on bookshelves, windowsills, kitchen counters, even my toilet tank, hoping that someday I'll put them to good use.

Flushing away the dust from one of my favorites -- a 1940s vintage "pink plume" from Hall China -- with some hot water from the teakettle, I then coated the inside of the vessel with a thin layer of organic white tea, a thoughtful gift from my son's new girlfriend. Mark Ukra's instructions are easy to follow, and soon I was sipping the delicate brew, my mind wandering to China's southern Fujian province in 650 A.D. White tea was produced there during the Tang Dynasty, but believe me, this beverage tastes nothing like Tang.

The rituals and ceremonies of tea interest me more than its weight-loss properties, though I've benefited before from the combination of tea's secret ingredients -- caffeine, L-theanine, and epigallocatechine-3-gallate (EGCC). I didn't know these ingredients by name, but I guess I've always had a feeling that tea was good for you. Last year I lost 22 pounds eating a balanced diet, drinking tea instead of coffee, and exercising 5 days a week.

I don't think you will find me on the Ultimate Tea Diet, but I'm quite sure you WILL find me in Dr. Tea's kitchen -- his tea-infused recipes are just too tempting, and the book belongs on every cook's bookshelf. Tonight I'm whisking together the ingredients for Rosemary Orange Tea Chicken; tomorrow morning my blender will be humming with a Fruit Tea Smoothie. January, here I come!
